Default Polk Audio MM1040

I am considering purchasing a MM1040 subwoofer and had two questions.

First this a good choice?

Second, I have an eclipse XA1000 which is 320watts at 4ohm and 480watts 2ohm. I was wondering should I purchase the SVC 4ohm or the DVC 4ohm?

Thanks

I believe the polk mm1040 is 350 watts rms. I would get the dual 4 ohm version. That way you will have a little extra headroom.

I think that you will like it. I have both the MM6501's and a MM1040 svc and they play rather nicely. I was running the MM1040 in my SUV and it played plenty low and loud. However, it is not quite loud enough in my Lexus because the trunk is solid metal.

I am currently running Focal 165 V30's and the MM 6501's sound pretty darn close to them after some tuning. The Focal's are just a wee bit more precise in both the tweeter and the mid range, but both sets offer excellent mid bass.

Lexus GS 350 AWD
Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.3, Focal 165v30 mids, XTANT/Morel tweeters, Morel Primo 104, Audio System - Twister F4 380 - F4 240, Alpine 3513.

Just out of curiosity, how would a IDQv3 10" sound in comparison to a MM1040 in a .66 cu ft enclosure?

Thanks

sound quality wise i would say the same. i loved the sound of my polk, my friends 10w3 was ported and i never sat in the car, but i know their built to sound great

according to winisd 10w3 will have more output sealed

ported same size boxes the polk will have more output ~35hz below
10w3 probably sound good since it rolls off around 40hz then it will mix well with cabin gain

polk is shallower by 1", likes a smaller sealed box, and is ~$100 cheaper
