Default Best way to deaden door with plastic inner panel?

I have a 2012 Hyundai Elantra that uses a plastic panel behind the door trim to which most of the hardware is mounted. I'm pretty sure I'll have access to the sheet metal after taking off this plastic panel to apply FatMat, but I was wondering what the best way was to deal with the plastic panel? My concern is that the panel will flex because it's not as rigid. Even the speaker mounts to this panel. Should I apply fatmat to the front and/or back of this piece? Should I apply any to the backside of the door trim, or only if I have rattle issues?

Thanks so much for any help!

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about.

First off nice looking install so far. Now by fatmat I hope that you got the rattletrap 80 mil. The rest of their line up is garbage. As for the deadning def do the metal door skin. You can look around on here and see the different opinions on different covering methods but in the end its up to you. The plastic door card doesnt look like it would have much flex to it honestly, you could apply some to the backside tho if you want a warm fuzzy feeling and not have to pull it back off just in case.

Here are some pics from my 2012 elantra. The doors need to be completely disassembled. There is a thread on DIYMA on how to do this. I believe it was done on a 12 Sonata.

I uses foam on the inter panel and it worked great. I was unable to xo bellow 80 hz. and this helped BIGTIME. Now I'm xo at 62 but level matched at a low DB.

I also reinforced and customize my door panels.

Here is how I built them out.

Here is how I worked the MR's in. This was easy and didn't require any alteration on the stock kicks.

That looks like it does a really good job. Thanks for sharing. I'll look up the door disassembly.
