Anyone know how to put the cone and softparts back into an IDMAX? I know that it requires using shims, but I can't understand how you would get the shims back out seeing as the whole cone is one piece and there isn't much venting under the spider.

Shims go through the basket under the spider landing. The shim sits on the outside of the voice coil when the core is dropped into the basket and the coil is in the gap.
