Default Box Wrapping FAIL. smh.

So I've been reading forums, buying materials, etc... and I finally decided to try to wrap my box in black vinyl I got from Jo'ann Fabrics.

I won't bore you to death, I'll just let the pics explain that I need HELP. I used 3M 77 Adhesive spray. I still have no idea how to wrap around a port...and am I supposed to take off the port while I spray the adhesive....

ehhhh, I suck, lol

This is what I did. I left the front baffle back from the port edge about 1/4 inch. I wrapped the vinyl around the corner and then I bought a roll of felt from the fabric store to cover the inside edge.

Uhhh.....I was just looking for some with no luck. It's kinda self explanatory though. The roll of felt was 3/4 inch wide and real dark brown almost black. I painted the inside of the port black and it blends right in. If I can't find any decent pics I can take one tomorrow. Sorry...raining like hell here.

make a couple trim pieces to go around the edges of the ports and it will look great.

Look great and sound great are 2 different things. If the baffle is cut flush with the port adding a trim peice will cause port noise. That's the reason I cut mine back a bit.

I tend to cover over the ports and make sure everything is secured well then come back with a fresh razor blade and run thru the port. It results in a clean secure covering everytime.

Looks good except for around the port. You may be able to get the loose vynal to lay down with some contact cement and a small brush or q-tip , then a straight edge and razor knife can trim it up straight. Add more paint or use a sharpie to re-black where you score with the knife.

Just what I'd try.

That's what it looks like....the felt looks darker in reality though.
