Soundstorm?

Soundstorm amps ; "Yea or neigh?" The economy is angry, vengeful and has cut deep into my hobby budget...Are Soundstorm amps worth the cheap prices? Is there another alternative? I am looking for a 1.1200+ for under $200.
Any suggestions?

I bought a 4 channel Force while my PG was being repaired it lasted 2 months then died -just in time to swap back my PG but for 100$ who cares

Actually, if you bought an amp , and it died two months later, you paid $100 too much.

On a budget? look at JBL GT5-A3001 mono amp or Orion Cobalt. Our younger customers are always impressed because the hit harder than their buddies "2000 watt" amp. For sure will slam to 2 12's

Never buy a SoundStorm amp. I installed one about three years ago in a budget system, seriously one of the weakest amps I've ever seen. Crunch is a good budget brand, their stuff is much much better for the price.

SoundStorm is what is knows as a 'flea market special' ...kinda like BOSS and Lightning. Overpriced even if it is free.

That's a good amp. Should be plenty of power for just about anything these days.

If the economy has hit you that hard you need to prioritize your budget! Do yourself a huge favor by waiting a little longer, saving a little more money, and get a quality piece that will last so you can actually get something for your money.

Zed made some old school StormStorm amps that rock they have MOSFET power supplies an output stages very clean if you ever hear an old school amp you'll never buy the new stuff again.

The old school SoundStorm Zed amps were made in USA, it's the made in America amps that are the good ones whether it be a PPI or Kicker or what have you those amps have a lot of kick I collect the old ones I've got quite a few of them very strong under rated in power.

So, what's the difference between underrated and justly rated?

I never understood the love for underrated amps. So... what? The mfg didn't rate them the way they should have? Congrats.
There are many other companies out there from all sorts of mfg's who rate their amps for the power they actually output. And those are often still more per channel than those underrated amps people love to love.

I don't think there's any logic to it, it's a romance thing. I love my Carver home amp that's conservatively rated at 100 watts RMS per channel because, well gosh, I can't imagine how much it actually makes. I won't pretend it's rational to keep a 25-year-old amp alive, but if it were rated honestly I might just go out and try to buy a newer equivalent...

I've got a sound storm that says by ZED AUDIO MADE IN USA on the board I'm on the old school show off thread I'll see about posting a pic of the amp an the inside of it I use my iPhone for everything I do I'm not good with computers but I do have the DIY Mobile app that I still haven't figured out how to use everything on it but I know how to post pic's on the thread I'm referring to just be watching for it in a few days I haft to get to it it's stored away in a box but I will find it and post it so you can eat some crow lol.
