Default Battery terminals with LED displays

Do these things stay on while the car is off? I know LED's use very little power but I would still like to know.

Also, any known issues with XScorpion brand terminals? They *look* solid.

I hope I don't get called a ricer when I pop my hood with these things on

Thanks

Darvex sells them, so I can't see how they'd be bad... Check out Darvex.com.. (Bagboy on Ebay IIRC)

IIRC my Stinger HPM ones have a "turn on" wire on them out the bottom.. (nope, just checked, it's auto on/off, guessing by current draw)

my stinger fuse block turns on and off by current draw. even has an alarm is a fuse blows lol.

stay away from xscorpion. i got my stuff from darvex and it was all crap. my volt meter is pretty far off from accurate (.5v). and it stays on all the time so i had to wire it in with my remote wire. the fuse holders I got, the covers dont actually stay on. they fall rite off. the wire i got was 18awg instead of 16awg, just had a thick jacket. all xscorpion stuff.

I have this one right here:

NEW DBT024RG 1/0/4 AWG BATTERY TERMINAL DIGITAL DISPLAY - eBay (item 150571603325 end time Apr-01-11 17:52:13 PDT)

Has a ground wire and constantly displays the voltage. 2 Posts for multiple ring terminals along with a 0 ga input and two 4ga inputs.
The 4ga inputs have set screws on the side of the terminal, so you can unscrew the top post and not have to worry about reconnecting the 4ga.

While I wouldn't use the XScorpion wire, I do use their blocks. They seem to be pretty solid.

Couldn't find a non-xscorpion block that had a display and a ring terminal and ring terminals are more important to me. I decided to go with Monster:

amazon.com/Monster-MPC-P300-SLM-BC3/dp/B000CIGB94

EDIT: The negative block was a whole $5 more so I just got two positive blocks. Now I fear the pos block might not fit the neg terminal... Time will tell.

I like the singer HPM, but I didn't want rings on my battery anyway..

Im using the xscorpion one and the display shuts off by itself. Without opening it up, im guessing it has a rechargeable button cell battery inside or a simple gizmo that holds power for a set period. It also doesnt seem to be off voltage wise.

How about we just start putting caps in line with the headlights instead of the amplifiers? That'll fix the dimming right?

LED is generally better, its more energy efficient, LED Spotlight supplier and it uses a better way of lighting up the screen. LED is generally much better 12v led lights looking in well lit area's. If your in a sunny place all the time LED is the way to go, because LCD flexible led strips will just dim down and you wont be able to see anything.
