Default Rockford Punch "25 to LIFE" amps

Waaawaweeewa! Holy shitbananas!! Three different 2 channel Rockford Fosgate 25th Anniversary "25 to LIFE" amps from 2005 on sale at Millionbuy.

Punch45: $129.95
Punch75: $159.95
Punch150: $189.95

From some of the birthsheets posted online, these things are doing at least 400% of their rated power at efficiencies over 60%!! The online manuals list them at (4 ohms, 14.4v):

Punch45: 22.5 x 2; 70 x 1
Punch75: 37.5 x 2; 120 x 1
Punch150: 75 x 2; 180 x 1

Taking the benched full power ratings into account, you'd get the following (shipping not included, but it's free over $200):
Punch75: 430 watts total power at 4 ohm (215x2) for $160 ~ $.37/watt
Punch150: 650 watts total power at 4 ohm (325x2) for $190 ~ $.29/watt

T-minus____ minutes till they're all sold out to DIYMA nuts!

Plus you even get a free t-shirt.

Any of you EE types want to analyze these:

Punch45

Punch75

Punch150

And isn't 60% efficiency pretty good for a Class A/B??

I doubt it. But at 3 ohms bridged it would probably run a little hot. For the price, I definitely think it's worth it. Hell, buy two and replace it.

No 4 channels were produced. From my research, each one was limited to 2500 each. Sounddomain had some a while back, but sold out.

They made a Power1000 Limited Edition which is a 1 ohm stable 5 channel beast, but Millionbuy doesn't have it. But you can find it at SD for an easy GRAND!!

$499, $599 and $799, respectfully. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...s=discontinued

Yep! 14.4v....did you see the birthsheet?? Well, it's like over 300watts PER CHANNEL at 4 ohms. Just figure 4 times the rated power per channel.

You love me, just admit it.

ONE??!???!

I've been through amplifier buying addicts anyomous (ABAA) like 3 times now and I can't seem to kick it.

Actually I've been looking for these, or something to fit this need, for awhile now. I wasn't going to say anything, but I felt I needed to be an enabler again.

Relapse is part of the recovery process.

Heads up everyone, looks like Millionbuy has the wrong dimensions listed. They should be:

Punch45: 2.6 x 11.2 x 11.7 (in)
Punch75: 2.6 x 11.2 x 13.6 (in)
Punch150: 2.6 x 11.2 x 17.6 (in)

fyi
if you get just one 150 amp....shipping quote is 24.08.......the amps is 189...but if the total is 200 or more and under 30lbs you get free shipping

so my total with shipping is 214.03
but if i find an item for between 11-24 dollars its like getting it for free

IME, yes. If you can find a used PRS amp on ebay, then no. But you're getting 4x the rated power here, not 2x. You really have to do the math. Plus, you'd have to find them in the first place (besides hitting up Marv's).

In my calculations, I can run three 75's and and one 150 and get 200x6 + 800x1 for $666 delivered which works out to be 2000 watts @ $.33 each!!

Or, two 45's, one 75, and one 150 for $606 delivered and get 90x4 + 200x2 +800x1 , which is 1550 watts @ $.40 each.

Or, four 75's for $638 delivered and get 200x6 + 400x1, which is 1600 watts @ $.40 each.

Or, two 45's and two 75's for $577 delivered and get 90x4 + 200x2 + 400x1, which is 1160 watts @ $.49 each. Still not bad at >$.50/watt.

Yep, I have problems.
