Hey there fifteen guy. You do know that private messages are much easier haha. Did you by chance think about contacting Rd audio themselves and asking if they help with box Building? I have always had great success at contacting "Internet speaker companies" for help with their products... Even try calling them :)

I have not done enclosure design for a while, but it's simple enough. Your best bet at working on these things is Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers by the way... They have enclosure design applets on there that will tell you what dimensions your box will be for specific volume and tuning. Generating a cut sheet is a little tough, but if you have expierence with cad, then it shouldnt be too hard. I will be around tomorrow night because the wife is at work and I'll see what I can scratch out for you dude :)

because its not 2 headunits. one is an Alpine DVA-9861 headunit with optical TOSLink output, that is hooked to an Alpine PXA-H701 brain in the trunk, and that is controlled by an Alpine RUX-C701 that is a single din wired remote to control the functions of the PXA-H701 multimedia processor (1\3 octave equalization, active crossovers, time correction, ect).

look it up on google :)

besides, i dont like touch screens. every one i have used is not accurate and is a pain in the ass to use. turnie-knobs is where its at.

pick up an IASCA CD, also may as well pick up the Chesky Ultimate Demonstration Disc. Listen to them both on headphones 1st to get an idea on tonality. I think You said you had some good seinhessiers .
Outside of that, its just finding music you enjoy listening to, that is recorded well, and putting a CD together.
I highly advise that when you start going to more shows (its inevitable) that you have your own cds so you can listen to what you know. Anyone can make their car sound good with their own stuff
I listen to alot of country now, which is actually still recorded really well for many major artists. So I use alot or Brad Paisley songs. I grew up with him so I know what his voice should sound like.
after that I have a wide range of stuff from Sarah Brightman to Eminem to hatebreed
    also check out foambymail.com
usually the cheapest place to get materials. they have volara foam, which is same as ensolite. they also have neoprene.

Perfect! for some reason I was under the impression that you had secured the panel down... Stupid me.

Thanks for the info, and the details on the BEAUTIFUL build!

Off topic but, what kind of fuel economy are you getting with your GTI? I realize it'll guzzle gas if you drive it like you steal it, but how is it if you're fairly conservative? I ask because there's one for sale near me for a pretty good price.

    sup man.

literally its just sitting on the area where the original panel was. its totally removable. its not 'sealed' except the weight of the panel holds it in place. so the air is still trapped down there, and i can still use the hatch space for anything i want. thats why i opted for the false floor because that is removable too so i can access my spare. and if you fold the seats down - your amps are now in the way of any cargo you want to put in. so a false floor is the way to go.

Hey, after checking out your GTI install I'm just wondering what you used to seal the "rear deck" to the hatch. I ask because I'm wondering if it's possible to have a setup similar to yours, but completely removable should the need for hatch space arise.

    Thanks!

    Justin
