Hey, so before I begin asking for car audio help, I notice you get these type of messages a lot. Do you mind being bothered with such things? :)

Hey I know you deal with Zapco amps a bit. I was wondering do you know if the older DC amps will work/integrate with the newer DC amps? I have an older DC350.2 and DC500.1 but need a DC750.2 to finish up my install. I cannot find any older DC750.2's for sale so I'm looking at buying a new DC752.

    Thanks

Hello, I own a 2007 Acura TL Type S and have all the components I need for my stereo installation. The one thing I realize is that it will never sound the way that I know the components should due to the stock HU. I realize your write up was from 4 years ago regarding the HU, I would love to be able to do the same thing with the HU. Do you still own the TL? Would the folks that you used to re-build your deck be willing to try it again? Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks!

    Hi Bing,
I have a question in regards to a Lexus. Seeing that you've done a couple, I am hoping that you can guide me in the right direction. The car in question is a Lexus SC430 and my issue is the singnal. My client wanted to keep the stock radio and didnt want to loose the navi voice. In keeping with that request i had to tap for signal at the ML amp and to keep navi i had to tap into the mid line after the navi amp. My problem is that I am getting hiss and grounding noise. The amp is ran Hi Level, so there is no signal summing going on. Got the client to budge for an LCi6 and a PPI Dsp. Do you think this would help me resolve the sound issue? I have tested everything and know that its no a ground issue, so im thinking it has something to do with tapping into the ML amp. Any thoughts? Anything help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello Bing & JOey!
Quick question, how do you guys Allah the mold cloth to the plastic panels that you work on? For example, when doing a A-pillar for a tweeter??

Do you use a spray adhesive like contact glue? Or CA glue?!?

Hey guys, quick question for you.

I've been beating myself up trying to write a review on a horrible install I got done here in Austin, Texas, for the shop review section.
There's a ton of details to go over, but I don't want to make the thread way too long for forum users, neither do I want to sacrifice a lot of the details that will take away from the whole unbelievable experience I've had.
It's a damn good horror story. You'd like it.
But, what do you recommend? Right now it takes 15 minutes to read. Too long?
Should I just quickly list my problems and question first, and leave the story for people to read if they please?
    I'd really appreciate your suggestions!
    Thank you!

    Thanks,

    hello!

I'm new to car audio fab and I would like to know what thickness of mdf are used for each layer? (main box, trim panels, plexi trims, cover panels, etc...)

I've noticed that you use layering technique on most of your builds

are they glued in together when finished? (or screwed maybe?)

wouldn't they cause unwanted (rattle) noise when the sub starts to kick?

by the way fantastic work and designs as always!

    thank you very much!

Hello everyone at Simplicity in Sound!

G'day from 'Straya! Love your work, inspirational and all that :). I am doing a simple SQ build on my girlfriends car (kind of simple but kind of no holds barred if you get my drift). I'm using Focal Flax FX speakers with both sides on -3db and the doors are fully BAM'd. Goes off like a frog in a sock i tell ya! Now I'm in the process of aiming tweeters. Now you've probably come across this problem before but I'm finding wherever I point either of the tweeters there is a pocket of high frequency that nestles itself up the corner of the drivers side a-pillar so I'm wondering how to get around this problem? Thinking about buying a dash mat?

    Cheers guys!

I saw in one of your builds that you used a CompuStar Firstech DR3100 gps system. How did you like it and was it compatible with an alarm system as well?

Hello...I've recently joined the forum after years away from car audio. I've been reaquainting myself with the hobby and in the process have looked over many of your wonderful installs. I'm going to be installing my own system in a Kia Soul, and I wanted to get your thoughts on my build. I'm going for simplicity and sq, and you seem to favor the brands I've been looking at.

I have a Kenwood 997, and a set of Morel Virtus 602's that I got for $240 NIB! I plan to run the 602's active with an Arc KS300.2 for the tweeters, and another for the mids. I'm going to bridge a KS600.2 and use it to drive a single Ultimo 124. I'm going to use a JBL MS-8 for my processing. I mostly listen to hard rock, but also stray into other stuff as well. This will not be a show system, but I do plan on a clean, proper install...big 3, sound deadening, etc. I'd be grateful for your opinion on my setup.

    Thanks,

Hi, I've been reading and researching all your installs and inspired by it to do a install perfect as I possibly can. I am in the midst of making tweeter pods in the A-pillar and how important is it to have the tweeters pointed in the right direction? And what is the correct direction to point the tweeters towards? In researching your installs I noticed some are pointed towards the driver and passenger side and some were just pointed at each other. Any helpful direction would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you.

    Bing,

I hope you can give me a bit of advice/direction on what to do...

I am going to be buying a Chevy Tahoe very soon and want to install my current amps in it: Zapco DC 1100.1 & 1000.4

I want to hide as much as possible - so its not for show or competition. I can probably get the amps under the seat, but for a sub, would you recommend a single 12" in the read driver side panel (fiberglass enclosure) or possibly use the rear spare tire well ??

Or maybe two 12" subs in a dedicated box that would rest in the trunk area??

Any suggestions what to do with a Tahoe???

Thanks so much - enormously appreciated!
