Hi, I was wondering if you still have the Bam-235ab amplifier and if you want to sell it? If it is in great condition I'm willing to offer a very resonable price for it. Thanks

    Hi Kelvin,

Been spending a lot of time reading the HLCD forum here lately...do you run horns in your car? If you're in Newport Beach (think that's what I remember seeing) then I'm not far from you...would love to give your car a listen if you're willing to give a quick demo sometime. Thanks!

You post quite a bit on the forums... I was wondering if I could ask you a couple questions?

    Hi Kelvin,
I've a pair of BNIB Focal TLR's (6 ohm) which I was going to install in my vehicle, but, having moved to China where I'll not be driving, I've decided to build a pair of home speakers. Could you recommend a pair of mids which would be suitable for them? Based on what I've read up on the TLR'S, I'll be looking to crossover at about approximately 3k。.

I could use the pair from my utopia's but I'd hoped to sell them here along with my other gear to fund my home stereo.

I'll be running them active crossed with a modded DCX2496 and hope to use sealed enclosure as I can have them made here for reasonable price. On the amp side, I'll be using local made tripath (class t ) solutions and move up to tubes at a later date. Sub will be my old trusty BA LF.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
How do you like the sound without the rears? Try fading all the way to the front ; it's actually up to you to decide whether or not you want/like rearfill.

Unless you have some special processing for it (MS-8, MiniDSP) and you want to keep your rearfill, I'd recommend a basic set of coaxial. Your rearfill shouldn't interact too much with your front stage and only give a sence of space and ambiance.

Regarding the 33WX, I can't really help you coz I don't live in the US. Is it the old version of the sub or the new? Try to post a thread on the forum and ask if someone in your area knows a solid installer.

If at all possible, seal the enclosure for midbass drivers. I always found that you get more control over the excursion and more "kick" too. 80rms is plenty but more is better . Remember, KRX2 is a 2 ohm set so your amp might be outputting more.

    Hope that helps,
    Kelvin

Gezz. I have allot of question feel like I sound be paying you. Thanks
I need a box build for the wx33. And install for my girls ride. I was driving around santa ana today. Stopped into a few shops but they were all hustle and cheap low end gear. Where do you recomend having work done. looking for quality and not spending an arm and a leg. Mabey you know a shop or someone. Also have a kx46 18 inch sub. I am willing to trade.
I have a few other things that I want to do to my system. Like cup the midwoofer of the krx2 and kr2. Want more solid mid bass. And I read a couple articles where you spoke about doing this.
Also whats your opinion on powering the krx2's with around 80rms. Hear so my people say don't give them less than 150watts.
I have found that everyone that you talk to has a there diferent perspective. And I realize that you are the man. So thanks a ton. hope I can help you in return one day.

hey whats up subwoofy. First off thanks for all your insight. I have read many of your other post; it has helped out my car audio experience. I a new to car audio but have always been sound fanatic. I don't have any where close to the audiophile background that you have but I definately know what sounds good and I am learning fast.

    I am currently running
    Front krx2
    rear kr2.
    sub kx40? "16 k2 series sub
running off of a zapco refence 650.0

I just moved down here from N cal (humboldt). My girlfreind know wants to put a system into her car. So I have picked up some extra gear for her car. I picked up a focal wx33 uptopia 13" sub. And I am gonna move my rear kr2's to her ride for her fronts. I any contimplating What to put in back. IF anything. When I first bought the kr2 for my rear speaker I didn't relize that I would always be fading the sound to the front for a proper sound staging. I still want some rear fill. BUt not sure how important the quality of rear speakers is.

How do you like Audsion LRX 3.1k? I bought the 5.1k model off a forum member on Wednesday. IMO the THD part of the specs are strange. I'm particlarly interested in your opinion on the sub channel. I'm not sure if I want to use a pair of 4 ohm subs or 1 2ohm

    hey man,

i was trolling the forum for any info on the K3P Focals and saw you are running a set. i've got the Polyglass 6.5" in the doors and the TN47 (or 51? can't remember!) in the pillars. want to ditch the 6.5" for something that will handle more power (i can run 250W/side bridged from my old SS Ref 604).

anyway, i was thinking of putting a pair of the 6K3P 6.5" drivers in as replacements. i see that they are sold primarily as part of the three-way setup, so i am wondering if you think they are appropriate for a 2-way up front? do you think will they sound good crossed over as high at 3K Hz?

how do you like yours and how much juice are you feeding them?

thanks a ton man, i appreciate your input on this.
