Ah, for the UK we have the threat of Islamic fundementalists and the IRA. Not aware of any other threats atm-but big events like this will attract the crack-pots. They're also stationing anti-aircraft missles on top of some (housing) tower blocks.
What either device will do against a suicide bomber, the most likely type of attack, I have no idea-they'd be better off just getting loads of naked women to stroll about to put the Muslims off and free Guinness to anyone with an Irish accent to keep the IRA busy!
TBH I think it's more of a show of force than anything.
Living in Birmingham I've little to worry about-large Muslim and Irish populations make a good "human shield":0

ok I read the article. seen the LRAD in action before.
So how are they going to shoot terrorists with the lrad and not also be hitting innocent spectators?
also...I see now its ok to call a protestor a "terrorist" .
imo , its another test lab. if something happens or if a group shows up to protest something then they will get to use this as a test.
I dont know how they are going to stop a hijacked plane with an LRAD but ok.
I still think its too much like a soap and staged. announcing these weird tactics for things that dont happen before they happen.
the day after the christmas underwear bomber was "caught" they had all the xray machines ready to roll out and of course the insider who made the machines had a few dump trucks full of money dropped off at his house. ie ...staged.

ok. I will take your word on all that as i am not familiar with what they are up to these days. never hear about the IRA any more.
I just think it wont be long before you have this kind of stuff all over. Especially since some countries in Europe are already in the toilet now. If the people continue to be a nuisance to the controlling masters, I mean..government.., then they will start using these types of tactics to control large crowds vs men with riot gear

Yeah, fun times ahead for us "Europeans"-despite the UK being part of the EU we managed to avoid the Euro-though it will still fuck us up, along with Europe's other interventions-like stopping us from kicking out people with terrorist links on "human rights" grounds(said terrorist might get what he deserves in his own country so the Eu forces us to house/feed and pay for the c*nts to stay here-FFS!)

On the Asian subcontinent maybe not, over here and in the areas I knock around I'm all good. Though I must admit to worrying about the "locals" views and ideals-when 9-11 happened I had 2nd/3rd generation Muslims in my shop-whooping with joy while enjoying British freedoms and sharing, to a degree, most of our ideals.
