My point was not that the topics shouldn't be allowed, as many here I think will agree. My point is that it can be embarassing to have to explain to someone casually walking by (some of us are ALLOWED to surf the web at work, so that's an irrelevant point to me) about topics they may see on our screen about fingering bungholes or jacking off. I have only visited ONE of those topics in the last week or more (since they really started getting out of hand), so I can avoid them as well as anyone else, and have no problem doing so. I just wish I could keep them off my screen without having to boycott OT in general, since it's one of the more 'fun' places to lurk, usually.
I'm not whining, either, someone asked an opinion, so I offered mine. I decided on my own I didn't feel like visiting those topics (as I do with many here), but other than avoiding OT altogether, there's no other way for me to deflect those questions from people who might walk by.
Is it affecting my life in a major way? No, of course not. It's just a minor point.
I DO however feel that the arrival of a couple of people and their particular 'style' has led to a downward spiral of the content in OT, unfortunately. I think this probably has contributed to a feeling of 'oneupsmanship', where several people seem to be trying to out-do the others in coming up with the most vulgar topics and getting a rise out of people.
Another reason I've not participated in most.

I just thought precisely the same thing. It's not enough that e-thugz have taken over every single other car audio site on the net. They had to take this one, too. It was probably wishful thinking to believe this place would remain civilized.

I'd love to see the self-employed folks fire themselves for checking DIYMA.
Frankly, I wouldn't have a job where I had to ask permission to take a break, have my internet usage monitored or limited, or otherwise be treated like a child.

There was a guy in our World of Warcraft guild back when I still played the game. He was one of the top officers in the guild. He was an older man that worked for NASA. Apparently there wasn't much to do at any given time so he would sit and play WoW for hours on end while at work. Fridays were his "slow" day at work and he would be logged into WoW for 8+ hours actively playing. And as I can imagine he got payed a decent salary being that he actually worked in a technical position at NASA.
