Man, I used to LOVE SF. I remember the day the original SF II came out on SNES. My friend's mom drove us up to the mall and we bought it...came back and played it all day and night.
seriously. the tournaments that went on in my house. i was one of the spoiled kids with the snes, genesis, and sega cd (i think it was called) and between the many sf games and mortal kombat games, my thumbs were as big as my forearms at that age. there were weekends where id have the entire neighborhood over and then some for an all out, all weekend brawl, with a little manhunt/hide n seek thrown in when the hands were about to break.
that was a pretty good looking preview. u think this game has passed its prime with all the focus these days being on halo/call of duty type games? i feel like an old man when i tell people i never liked doom and all these shoot m up games and miss the old days when it was racing and fighting with mario sprinkled in.
I'm a bit more pumped for Capcoms next gen Bionic Commando.

You guys remember the Street Fighter movie? I am convinced that movie helped to facilitate the death of Raul Julia. Poor guy, he was a fantastic actor and deserved much better than that steaming pile of shit of a "movie."
I can remember seeing two movies in the theatre that absolutely bored me to tears as a kid to the point where I actually fell asleep through part of the movie: Street Fighter, and Super Mario Brothers.
You couldn't pay me enough to go back and watch those films.
As far as the SF4 games goes, let's hope it's better than SF3. That game was utterly forgettable. I can remember seeing it and its 3 different versions in the arcade and no one would be playing them. I tried it once and I couldn't get used to the "feel" of the game. It just didn't feel like SF at all. Felt more like the Marvel vs Capcom games which I never could get into.
but the real question is...why in the world hasn't anthony aka vestax replied in this thread yet??
Shut your pie hole!!!!
I would be stoked if they kept it to the original. I hate the fact that anything after Hyper is one button=10,000 moves for a no skill cheap kill. There are few newer decade later games that came close, but it almost seems all the same. There are still competitions for the Hyper version believe it or not. I competed back in 1992 - 1993 at the local Golflands and as you can see, most people still think the original's "every move counts" is the way to go. Hyper was the most well balanced version since every move had a counter move as well as every character was defeatable with at least 1 character. Except for Balrog of course.
Well just wait and see how SF4 turns out.

Wow, the nights I used to spend up at the arcades playing SF. Your right about them not being the same anymore. I don't remember the name of our local mini golf arcade but they used to have competitions there as well. I would travel all over Pasadena and Houston to play people...lol What a nerd I used to be.

Nerd!
Houston's big as shit so you were burning some serious gas.
I spent a but ton of money on good old regular SF II and SF II Turbo. I quit playing when they implemented 90 move combos in the newer versions...and when people would actually get into fist fights over the game (f'in cheezer!).
