Oh yeah, my wife does an apple crisp every Thanksgiving. The topping on hers is only made from brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter, though. I don't know if I'd do the oatmeal (seems like filler to me), but walnuts sound good.
Oh yes... I am intimately familiar with apple crisp... when I was working as a dishwasher/prep cook at 16 I was always tasked with getting pieces of apple crisp out of the freezer. Yes, every time I was back there I mooched a little bit for myself
