I started putting money away for it yesterday. I know I won't be able to get it this year, but surely, soon I will be able to put a down payment.
6-speed, 300hp, AWD, and its HAWT!

Damn! The CTS is one of GMs few success stories. They finally developed a platform that is sexy and can whip around the Nurburgring faster than anything else out there. I would take this in a second over any import.

I was hesitant about it at first, then I looked at pricing. I can get a really nicely loaded one with the sedan sport package, 19" wheels, 6-speed manual, and in a sweet color for about $37,000.......which is almost exactly half of what I priced out a new 535xi wagon at.
Hopefully, at this point, GM stays in business. I haven't wanted a car this bad in a long time.

I've been in a CTS-V and I can say, I wasn't impressed...
The biggest thing I didn't like was lack of space.. It felt like I had more room in my little Subie, than I did in the CTS...
To eash thier own though... I love waggons.. I just wouldn't install in one..

Really, my dad owned one and I never felt it was small in any way when I drove it, or rode in it.
This is also the 2'nd gen version.

I donno, I felt like I was in the mouth of a clam or something when I was in it...
the dash felt like it extended up to close to me and it was low... I didn't spend a lot of time in it though, I was just getting a quick ride, cause I had never been in one...
I thinkg YOU would look good in one though...

The interior room of a CTS is between a 3 and 5 series BMW. I've sat in Imprezas at the last few auto shows, and they certainly didn't feel anywhere as comfortable or as room as the new CTS.
i raelly do like that car, being a wagon person myself, i dont like hte HUGE rear pillars thats going to cut into passing lane vision, but ohter than that, a sweet car
of cours , as far as 300hp and awd and wagon goes...a LGT wagon like mine with about only 1.5k of stuff on it achieves that hehe for much cheaper

I, personally, want the RWD version. No need for AWD, unless I move to northern Canada.
There should be no need to move your head when passing. If you adjust your mirrors correctly, there will be no blind spots, except for in parking lots, when you actually do have to move your head when backing out.

A 300hp wagon, now that's just selfish. Save some horsepower for the people who are going to use it, like coupe drivers!
Kidding of course... that's not bad for being a Cadillac station wagon (which is pretty bad)
HEY!
I have a 180hp wagon now, and I need more powah.
I'd track it............

That is a sweet looking ride. 300hp seems a little light though.
I really like my E34 wagon, and was considering pulling the trigger on a turbo kit, but now...........
I have found a new mistress.

you know what, i said that too until i owned an AWD car. there are aspects of mine now that i absolutely love. especially now, with 400/450, the ability to mash the throttle at low speak and just squirt through without wheel spin is truly gratifying, even more in the light drizzle. having a lot of powre AND being able to put it down properly nearly all the time is addictive to someone who doesnt track their car, where a RWD may give you a more rewarding experience.
if you have a High power RWD car, driving in the rain requires a bit more cautious throttle application, as quite a few of my RWD clients have found out here hehe.
as for the blind spot, what you say is true, but at the same time, having the visibility also puts one at ease. I myself prefer lots of windows and a big greehouse
Just be careful with OEM integration...I know a few people that have had nightmares with the CTS.
It should be a fun ride though. I've always been a wagon fan myself...loved nomad models growing up.
I'd use a side processor to integrate, instead of using aftermarket head units.
This is a long time away though. I'm going to have to save for a year or two until I could even think about "popping the question" to my local Cadillac dealership.

well, too bad they dropped the magnum, aside from the claustrophobic cabin common to all those chryslter cars, i think its very cool.
i have ran several SRT8s, very close each time, unless its from a stand still. but rolling start, very close. really wish they didnt drop the magnum...poop
oh btw...being my previous background in cars before my legacy.
if you want a wagon, with:
300hp
awd
6spd manual
3 way adjustable active suspension
there is also this:
hands down the most comfortable seats i have EVER sat in, including all the big mercs, bimmers lexus etc
infact, i almost bought this instead of my legacy
Well, since we're talking station wagons (well....they ARE), this 'uns more my speed:
But that CTS looks nice too.
No manual transmission. I would have bought a hemi magnum if they offered one. Plus, as of now, I will never buy a Chrysler again.

I know, I like it, but I DON'T like the active suspension and all the electronic gizmos from them. Shocks for a P2R are around $700/ EACH!
I don't believe there is any market that needs an active suspension, short of cars costing over $100,000. Yeah, its neat to flick a switch, but owners get really pissed off when they have to shell out $1,000 for a new shock including labor. That just isn't good business strategy.
