Jinkies. Coolant level isnt going down at all? I dont know how those are set up, could you have a blockage to the heater core? What do you need heat for anyway?

If you haven't already tried this:

Turn the fan on to all the different speeds (if you have numbers) and see if it responds to only a few, if only 1 setting, or possibly none. Figure that out first.

Then jumper the always hot Wire to the blower motor. If that works, you know the motor is ok, and its probably the blower switch. If the jumper doesn't work, check to see if there is a clear ground (the beeping continuity test). If that is ok, check for 12v at always hot wire. If all of that checks out, you need a new blower motor.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Did a little research and noticed no major occurances of this on a Matrix. Not knowing what year you have I guessed an 02 and then searched + and - 2 years from there, with all engine packages picked.

Only the Celica really has a problem w/ no heat, and it comes from the heater core failing. You can tell because there will be no flow through the heater core.

No other problems common to the Matrix. The Celica is the one w/ the issues.

Oh yeah it helps me greatly to know exactly what model and what year we're talking.

I'll agree as well. My "resistor pack" on my Ranger went out, and only the slowest and fastest speeds worked. The resistors on the middle speeds opened up, so no Power to the motor. ~$20.00 dealer part for me.

If this doesn't seem plausible, I'd break out the DMM as well.

If the fan works on HI, you need a blower motor resistor pack... If you have fan it's likely the diverter... All the info you need can be had on MO. c o m OR GenVibe. c o m

I'm on Genvibe with my DD Vibe... Same as the Matrix..

Ditto. If I am hearing the symptoms correctly (only one blower speed) I would be looking at blower motor resistor as my first test.

Intermittent problem cat says you might have a loose ground somewhere, or a bad blower motor.

car now has normally functioning ac and heat
