So last night sometime after 12:30 in the morning someone decided to pour either paint stripper which is what I, and other people think, or brake fluid, which my dad thinks, on the side of my girlfriends semi brand new Suzuki vitara (08). Do you guys have some input as to what it is…im pretty positive its paint stripper.
Stupid ass police wont do anything. All we can do is file it and we got a case number…we have our suspicions but I guess that’s not enough for this world today. Im thinking about putting up 1 or 2 night vision cameras. If any of you have used some please let me know how they worked because this is getting to be really ridiculous. I guess now a days if you make someone mad (which we didn’t) then they just walk up to your car and pour paint stripper all over it to get back at you. Pics pics and more pics.
this is what it looks like on the window…any idea what It is?

wow! that sucks. It seems like everybody has had bad things happening to them lately... I got robbed and I have friends who are down from college that got robbed. Their are 5 of them that live in 2 houses that are walking distance from each other and both of their houses were robbed and a car was stolen... sketchy people in the world
Wow that sucks!
What a chickenshit way to deal with someone, wrecking their car. Lame.
I agree ...that sucks. But you call it a 'chickenshit' way to deal with someone. People that piss people off have to be dealt with ...this is much more civil than a baseball bat (or bullet) to the head. This is just 'stuff' and can be repaired / replaced. (I don't know the owner or the OP and not implying that she did anything to deserve any kind of 'dealing with')

If money is the root of all evil, why do churches beg for it?
Give me liberty ...or I'll get up and get it myself.

bummer. I've always joked with my friends and said that I'm going to write my name with aircraft stripper on their hood one day as an empty thread. Never heard of anyone ever actually using it on someone's car before... wow.
I've worked with plenty of chemicals and can tell you most acids won't eat away at just the paint and leave the metal alone.
Same with brake fluid; it won't cause the paint to peel up like that(it'll "dissolve" the paint).
Paint stripper is readily available and easy to get; and it looks like someone just bought a bottle and just dumped it on the car. Also, the picture of the substance on the window resembles paint stripper.
yep, paint stripper DEFINITELY does that. I've used it a lot of times to strip bicycle frames down to raw for repaint. I always used the spray form. When it sets up, the paint literally bubbles up and can be wiped away. Just like in the pictures...

Being 18 makes me wonder how long you 2 have been a couple ?
Any ex's that might have had it in for either of you ?
Well we have been together for 2 years and 8 months. So there arent any ex issues. haha We have an idea of who it is, but we cant do anything because we have no witnesses. Unfortunately

well she was in an accident the day before this happened where she accidently hit a car in a parking stall as she was trying to park. we got the whole issue dealt with and that will cost $500 and the insurance will cover the rest. but im not sure how much this will cost and if the $500 deductable will cover this also. so it may be another $500 to fix this. it really sucks. and its fathers day and her moms birthday so it was a great gift for them but they arent mad at sabrina (my girlfriend) haha. i will update how much it is gonna cost tomorrow.

I'd guess it's in the thousands as each panel that has damage needs to be stripped, prepped and painted. Also, check the plastic parts that came in contact with the stripper may be damaged too.
I'm willing to bet that it's another $500 deductible as this is a different incident.
