This question beckons...... Why do so many of you want to see GM Fail, Better yet Specificity GM? Why not ford or dodge/Daimler/fiat?
Gm has done a complete 180 on quality and not just them, ford and dodge also(except P.W.M. And CVT trans srsly get rid of that.) But I can not grasp why so many of you want them gone? I mean is this really all the faith you have country and one of the few companies that still makes a large majority of there products on us soil? Sure GM had a dry spell in the late 80's till mid nineties What about before that? what about after that?

What I find turely disturbing is that many of you that bash them don't even own an domestic car. I mean How would you know if you haven't drove one in 10 or so years? People can change why not companies? Now admittedly I'm a domestic car guy, more so a GM guys any car 2002 and up I would drive with out any questions and be happy. I will leave you with this to stories.

So an older gentleman wanted me to upgrade his lighting system so he could see better when driving at night, now this guy who I will call frank. Frank is in his mid fifties, he was a pro truck driver for about 15 years before a nasty accident that involved a road sign coming through his window ended it.Franks has three cars that he and his wife drive on occasion, A 2000 Camaro Black on red LS1 engine(show car)(29k), A 2002 Chevy Caviler(195k), A 2003 Ford Taurus(80k), Now this guy has owned a few cars in his lifetime. a few forgien a few domestic. Now what he told me next turely shocked me he told me excluding the the camaro the caviler was one of the best cars he has ever owned, he said all he has done change fluids and wear items at the recommend intervals and HE HAS NO problems at all the same follows with the other cars.

The next story is about value.

MY neighbor next door owns three cars a Civic, a Malibu, a Volkswagen beetle.

Now he wanted to get rid of the beetle, will I said "I will make a deal with you, If I could sell the car for over 5k I could keep the rest", This is a 2000 beetle BTW, so Go on line and look at the comps...... I was F'ing shocked to see the highest priced one I could find is around 4,500...... I srsly thinking i could get 5k-6k. For shits and giggles i go look at the Pontiac's and a few other low end domestics for the same year and say WTF really?. I was turely fucking shocked.

For shits and giggles I dare you go look at some domestic cars and read the specs, find a friends of yours thats the classic i buy forgeine cause it better guy and read them off and see what he says.

I have a family member in a national company with one letter on the NYSE, last spring they did COLA of 3% and the only way you could get a raise on performance was to move up in position.

They may not be owned by GM, but they are still joined at the hip. The fact is that GMAC got $13.5 billion and now they need $5.6 more to keep GM and Chrysler afloat.

At ms.p I Know what Honda does I know there still making cars here but that fact is GM is one of the biggest American companies we have left. I really don't care anymore juts stop the needless bashing and let people make there own decision,works out better that way but as Murphy law says if you expect/want something to go wrong it well.

The platforms may have changed but they're still using some of the same engines, transmissions and many other smaller parts. They've been updated but they're still old designs. You'd think that would help reliability but it doesn't seem to.

At ogg it does, like take any of the LS or vortech engines there all fucking bullet proof... as well as the ecotech, the 3500,3600,3800,3900 are all fucking great. But honestly any car engines I don't care if their a Honda or a ford any engine will last 200,000 miles EASY with proper matience, what you have to worry about is all the electronic BS thats in the car.
