Please you seen that new civic? the only thing really cool is the damn digital RPM Gage I don't get the perceived appeal, Just cause it's foreign doesn't mean it's better, Fuck my dream car is an Alfa romeo 159 And there brand is know to have electrical gremlins I don't know if they still do but hell get one over here and I'd take a chance.
I mean the new civic is not much different than a a cobalt similar fabric for the seats, similar plastic panels, both have plastic bumpers both have all the same features, both have similar power ratings both have similar MPG's both are ugly from the same angle, I mean really the only advantage i gave the cobalt is how easy it is it is work on and to the civic a Lil bigger in the sedan version. I mean pick a car don't bitch or bash. [/quote] |

I've got 145k on my 2000 Silverado with a 6.0 and I don't see why it won't go another 60k but I've already replaced a bunch of electrical parts. They were all made in Mexico except the one switch labeled "Lucas Electric"( )![]() However, there there seems to have been a serious decline in reliability after 2001. I know a couple of guys with '03-'04 GM trucks that have had a ridiculous number of stupid problems including engine issues while every 2000-2001 I know of has been rock solid and still run beautifully despite sounding like there are marbles in the crankcase

You cant even retort with actual facts and experience. You want to take a cheap shot at me for bing a "Big Girl?" -- You still live with mommy -- in her basement.... My Prelude is SOOOOO Much more comfortable and easier to get my fat ass in and out of than my Bonneville ever was.... and THAT was the Number one deciding factor for getting rid of that piece of shit. Gm, and all of its little subsidaries, is, has, and always will be Second rate excuses for transportation. ESPECIALLY Pontiac! Chevy comes out with the Blazer, GM introduces the Jimmy-- SAME damn vehicle branded with a different name, built with lesser quality parts.... Blazers are still on the roads, Jimmy's are not. And GUESS WHAT? I owned BOTH! Do you think I own a Honda just by Chance? HAVE you ever driven a honda like mine? You HAVE no CLUE how much leg and head room I have... because I am such a "big girl." Oh ya, and the seats are contoured to fit the human body, unlike Any GM branded BENCH they call seats. You had the best idea yet Marc... just shut up and quit debating what everyone else knows is a losing battle. GM needs to die..... period.... but we just need to make sure they tug on the heartstrings of all the other so-called American car manufacturers. /soapbox |

I own an 06 Toyota and my company car is an 08 Malibu. My toyota has never been in the shop except for oil changes and the normal maintenance regimen. My Malibu has had umteen things go wrong with it. All electrical. Ride-wise, the Toyota is quieter and gets way better mileage. My 03 Suburban... Sigh.. That's another topic of sadness with all the fixes it has needed.
I keep requesting my company offer different choices for our cars. Always hoping. |

Really.... While anyway on the Malibu there is a cluster issue and a main harness issue the cluster is just a programming issue and the main harness issue(to the BCM) is from to much stress on wire/harness and one of the pins may come lose. It is a simple fix un clamp from point a and address the connector issue. |

Raises Hand, and I just turned 33k, any wager on when my car fails? NO Rattles, No shakes, No weired noises. In fact the only issue i have is because of my own fault, the idle is to low DUE to a tune I have and because of that the power steering belt will screech if i turn the wheel to lock/stop point at idle. Oh and I didn't know the malibu was brand new in 2005

![]() What engine dates back to the 80's? Not the LSx, not the Ecotec, not the Northstar, not the Duramax, I'm kinda calling BS on that. What tranny dates back to the 80's? None again. Smaller parts? Like bolts? Seriously, GM has its issues but stupid BS like this doesn't help. |
