I'm a Ford guy, but I think the GT500 needs to lose another 4-500 pounds to really bring it all together.

Its always seemed like a blunt instrument to me anyway, its heavy, has a solid rear, gobs of power, etc. Luckily enough, i'm not in a tax bracket that would give me the opportunity to worry about that anyway.

I can't afford a GT500 and as soon as I can find a decent replacement for my 2006 Rustang GT, it is out of here too! I never thought finding a car that was both fun and practical could be so damn hard.

Wonder if Ford will have the same fuel dilution problems that Audi has when they went to a plasma coating for the cylinder liners.
And BTW: it's easy to knock 250lbs off the front end of 05+ Mustangs with the right tubular front end, floating rotors, and forged wheels. Completely streetable nowadays too. |

unless you are tracking it, just get the one you like best
you can only do so much on the highway, and if you commute to work everyday in the car, the performance is lost going 0-15mph for half a mile i think people look at specs like horsepower and assume the car is far superior if it has 50more HP what about torque, gear ratio, paint color????? and vehicle weight? |

I wasn't too popular on one of the Rustang forums when they had a poll asking who was going to buy the 2011 GT with the 5.0. I said I would only consider it if they could guarantee that the car weighed less than 3500 pounds. I found it ironic that they were all in a tizzy over the HP and Torque, but no one could tell me how much the vehicle was going to weigh.

Really? You'd even compare this thing to a Z06?
It's not even in the same league, no matter how light or powerful they make it. |

Never said it was. Just said i'd rather have one. If i have a vehicle, i want to be able to take it on long trips comfortably. After riding in a z06, i don't think it would be the one for me. Great vehicles though.

I've considered a Speed3, a scooby, an EVO, or even looking towards a used RSX Type S. Unfortunately, I am not getting ANYTHING until the Rustang is paid off next year. Until then, my paid for Civic and Rustang will have to do.
