Well, I'm going from Phoenix to Clarksville Tennessee (have family there), for a few days, then spending a few days in the Florida pan handle (Pensacola area), the coming home through the southern US, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas etc.
Should be fun, as I've never been to Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana. I've been to Texas several times, but not where I'll be going through.

When are you hitting Bama? I'm just north of Birmingham.
I don't know exactly when. It could even possibly be at night. I really don't know at this moment, I just know I will be going through there. Oh wait I just looked at a map. I'll be going through the Mobile area, not close to Birmingham.

PM me if you're short stopping or staying overnight in Memphis... We've got a guest sweet condo. I can't guaranty just where I'll be in 3 states any given day though...
I have a lot going on this weekend too -so you gotta let me know.

Definitely make sure you drive through at least a portion of the south during the day (LA, AL, etc). Vastly different from anything you've seen in AZ for sure. FL is pretty kickass too during the day. Ever seen pine trees at sea level? And definitely stop at Rudy's BBQ either in Austin or El Paso. Some of the best brisket I've ever had in my life!

The Australian pine tree's are really that interesting to you??
Lol I HATE Florida and have ALWAYS thought it was by far one of the most boring states to drive through since there is essentially nothing ever changing as far as Geography goes...We have NO mountains, No beautiful flowing streams, NO waterfalls, basically NONE of the stuff that makes a roadtrip any fun

Man, you're going to from AZ to the South in the summer? It's gonna be humid as HELL, so bring a lot of tank-tops, sandals, and plenty of fresh underwear.
