What's the general concensus on the Focal 165 A1? They are around $140 right now. I put some in my doors and they sound incredible to me and I've had lots of comments on how great they sound... but I'm far from an expert and really haven't heard a lot of the other options.

I got a set of ba pro60 which the mid and tweeter are 3ohm each. If I don't like the metal tweeters can I use the ba neo type m and xover ones which are 8ohms with the 3ohm mids?

it would technically work right? just the crossovers could be terrible for the drivers. like trying to cross the mid at 4k and the mid can only play safely and sounding good up to 2k

or even if it were in the drivers playing range, it might ask the mid to play its worst peak in its frequency response which would cause problems

deff not a good idea though

Yea you can... I've had two different 4channel amps bridged on my BA 6.5 Pros (also 3 ohm) for years and have never had an issue with either. You just need a decent amp and not a piece of shit chinese built hunk of garbage.

There's too many combinations

Still like the rs180 and tb ceramics/seas neo combo.

I was merely pointing out that most of past suggestions were from car audio components instead of using DIY mentality of using home drivers. After going through thread, I just hoped people listed more suggestions like the one you just did. I actively ran a 5" rs125 with the seas neos on a budget build and liked it a lot too.

Depends on who you're asking... I usually buy sets that are more than $900 so $250 really is "budget" to me

if you're still looking, yeah, the v's were replaced with the ck6x. they're bascially the same but the woofers have phase plugs that the tweeters can be mounted on rather than dust caps and a bracket mount for the tweeter to make a coaxial.
