Hey guys, Am an avid audiophile but I am coming from the realm of headphones and computers. I am looking to get a decent set up for my car, but found learning what to get a bit overwhelming. I have did a bit of studying myself but was just trying to see if anyone could throw an Idea out there for me on what to get.
(reviewing headphones is so much easier)
The 2011 HHR only has...
Car Audio Front Speakers Size: 6 1/2″ Speakers
Car Audio Front Speakers Depth: 3 1/2″
Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: 6 1/2″ Speakers
Car Audio Rear Speakers Depth: 4″
Car Audio Front Tweeter Size: 1 1/2″ Tweeters
Car Audio Front Tweeter Depth: 1″
So i was thinking, why not just get some extremely top end 6.5's in the front doors, good tweets, a good sub, and just forget about the back seat doors for now? Since I am on a budget... And ill cut up door panels and mount tweeters somewhere else if I have too.
I am obsessed with very high sound quality, I've spent 400 bucks on headphones alone just to get awesome sound. Now i know to get the same sound in my car is going to be quite a bit more, so I am not expecting to have the same caliber sound, but just want to get something pretty decent.
Oh yeah, and I have just the factory head unit as well. So i am guessing id have to get one of those as well..?
I mean, just list a head unit/Amp/speakers combo that would work well together and ill most likely run with it.
id like to not have to spend more than 1000 dollars right now, If i have to wait on the tweets then that's fine.
Any recommendations? I mean, I am completely in the dark here.
For instance i try to research some of the best sounding stuff..
And this website here JL Audio 10W3v3 2012 - TopTenREVIEWS they say some 10inch JL's are the best subs money can buy?... now cmon, there are subs i know that cost 500-1000s of dollars. How is a 150 dollar 10inch sub going to be the #1?? And the same when i look up other component speakers and such. What people are saying about sound quality in speakers jumps all over the place, its so hard to figure out what to get being a total noob.
