Default Alpine PDX Gen 1 vs Gen 2

I currently run 2 PDX 100.4's and a 1000.1. I am thinking of selling these and getting the new F4 4 channel and the 5 channel V9.

I really have limited space and I want to get my H701 as close to my amplifiers as possible to keep the signal path clean and short. And with three amplifiers this is not possible with the space I have to keep a usable hatch space.

Anyone here run the newer PDX amplifiers who also have ran the older gen1 that can give me a decent side by side comparison on how the newer versions perform over the older counter parts? Bonus of the new design they are acctually smaller then their gen 1 amplifiers.

I like the fact that the V9 has a gain knob for the sub channel so I can throttle control without having to mess with the deck. Also how well does the sub channel perform I know the PDX-5's sub channel is VERY weak and diluted compaired to other micro amplifiers.
