Don't get those Pro60, those are last year models AND from an unauthorized dealer. Be smart.

Look into the Pro60 SE's from an authorized dealer. The tweeters on the Pro60 SE model are MUCH better.

@ that price look into the Hertz HSK and the Morel Tempo 6 as well. Both very stout sets that will hold their own or better up against those you have posted

I wish I could give you a strong comparison or something but I really have no personal experience in which to compare my SR6500's to. However I do feel they sound very nice, little lacking in the midbass however my doors are not sealed or deadened so I am expecting it to improve. Tweeters don't seem bright or harsh at all just sound great throughout their entire range. The crossovers are massive though so plan accordingly for mounting them sadly I never got to listen to mine passive since one of the crossovers had a bad tweeter network (I bought them second hand.)

With those listed I would go for either the SR6500 or the JL comps, or try the HErtz comps recommended (have heard nothing but good things about Hertz lately.)

Between those, I'd lean toward the Polk SRs and the Boston Pros, but like said above, consider the Pro SEs because it has the same tweeter as the SPZ lineup. I have the Pro SEs and absolutely love them.

I'd recommend you go with the Polks if you want a balanced set, it's a warm sounding set that's still very detailed and will sound good on all types of music. They'll also be the more forgiving set on poorly recorded material (the flaws aren't quite as painful to listen to)

Pro/Pro SE if you want something leaning a bit more aggressive than the Polks, balanced with a little bit of the stereotypical "west coast sound" injected into the mix. And the Pros get LOUD and stay clean at high output levels, they get louder than the Polks.

Both are very flexible component systems, with the ability to go coaxial in their own ways, and work well in a lot of different vehicle types.

I didn't like Pro60s at all. Too aggressive sounding, didn't even want to listen to my music.

The 6500 midbass will be hurt a lot if you don't have your doors sealed and deadened. With them deaden/sealed the midbass comes alive it has a lot of energy but can lack punch at times. I have no problem with the midbass, actually I love it. The tweeters are awesome, maybe a little too laid back for some but that's a plus if you don't want them to be fatiguing. The overall sound of the 6500 is well balanced, detailed as hell and smooth.

The crossover is somewhat big but is very good.

While poorly recorded material might not be as painful it will sound worse because the 6500's are so detailed. Listening to a source such as an iPod you might want a component set that's not so detailed.

Yah no shyit. I have to say I have heard every sinlge set you have listed except the new Polk Momo's, but have heard the older ones. Out of all you listed I would say the SR6500 (one of my favorites) followed by the Bostons. A few years ago before I was building the current car and not so "involved" I was looking at those same speakers and it was it was very close between hose two, I really really really liked the Polk SR6500's, the SR line of subs are definately worth looking into as well, heard them in many cars and they were very impressive. I my humble opinion the SR subs are as good as the acclaimed JL W6. I would also suggest listening to the Image Dynamics Chameleons and the XS65's as well although they are going to be slightly higher in price and it is obvious you are not looking buy authorized with the prices you listed. Best thing to do is go out and listen for yourself to as many comp sets as you can, only you know the sound you like. Oh, btw the Pioneer PRS sets have had outstanding reviews but personally (only heard two cars using them) I thought they were way too laid back bt more than likely it was how the cars were tuned. GOOD LUCK!

I got to hear the SR6500's and they are really nice; if you can get them for $320 I would go for those for sure. Very balanced sound; AND they break down into coaxials (I was considering having them for my rear speakers, but that's a little too much to pay for rear fill right now). I would go with what dirthog said about deadening the doors - I would do that with any of these speakers though.
