Help with '09 MK5 replacement speakers

Hello all. I am a newbie here so please go easy on me.

I recently purchased a 2009 Jetta TDI. Love the car, hate the stereo. Just can't seem to get a decent sound from the stock speakers. I'm looking to upgrade the system in the future but am having difficulty finding and selecting replacement speakers so I'm hoping the experts can help me out.

I want to keep my stock HU and also want to utilize the factory speaker locations. The system needs to remain stealth for security and cosmetic reasons plus I like the integration of the steering wheel controls.

Can anyone here recommend some great sounding speakers that will essentially drop into the existing factory locations. I know they are not ideal in terms of imaging and whatnot but that's not really a concern of mine. I just want a decent sounding system that remains stealth in appearance. I'd also like to keep the cost to less than $300 - $400 per set. Cheaper is even better since I'll have to pay someone else to install the system for me. Thanks in advance!
