Default Which Head Units Bypass the Ipod's DAC

I'd like to purchase a head unit that does not use the Ipod's DAC (i.e. doesn't use the line-out connection). I know that the Alpine IDA-X series does this, but I'm wondering whether other models in the Alpine and Pioneer lineup do the same. Which head units bypass the Ipod's DAC other than the Alpine IDA-X series?

If the Ipod's DAC is bypassed, then the music (to me, at least) is louder, clearer, and the frequencies sound less restricted (especially the lower end).

To know for sure, you would have to find out via the manufacturer's specifications for the head unit. I've been finding, however, that the specifications are never really clear.

Thanks for the information about that Kenwood. I'm most interested in the Pioneer AVIC line, however. If anybody has information about how that iPod interface works, please let me know.

I've been digging into this some, it seems it takes a company paying apple for the decoding necessary to get and use the digital signal out of the ipod. Might want to double check with the manufacturer before you buy if it's really important to you.
