Re: Any SQ difference between an Itunes music video and a regular Itunes music song?
The videos are also 256kbps VBR.
edit: just checked out another video i have and that one was uncompressed audio, IE max bit rate for the given sample rate and bit depth. So it looks like the quality depends on the individual videos.

How can u know that the video or audio is uncompressed I mean as with downloads.. I download a compressed song and then I change the format and it registers at a higher bit rate how coul u know after that?

You can't know. But considering what is at stake, you have to assume they are not being fraudulent in that way.

Well true but if u take your music from limewire and such places there isn't really any way to tell. Isn't 356 bits the highest and beat u can get? While iTunes may offer uncompressed music but isn't the real loss in the playback (quality loss from playing from an iPhone iPod iPad?

Itunes does not offer uncompressed music... except I guess in some music videos. There also should be no quality loss whether you play from your Ipad or Ipod. It's more about the orginal source (IE music file, CD, ETC)

I was really puzzled that one of the videos I check was uncompressed, so I went back and checked that video on my other PC which I am able to load iTunes on. It turns out that that one was ~256k VBR as well. Apparently the media software I checked it with yesterday (windows media player classic properties function) could not report the bitrate correctly for that format.
I checked 4 other videos with the iTunes details funtion and they were all in that ~256k range that indicated 256k VBR.

I was gonna say that it sounded weird because the file size would have to be a lot larger to support the higher audio.
Have they gone to 24bit yet on the music? Because if they did and they didn't on the videos then the music might have a slight edge...
