Need some advice for active setup and choosing a crossover.
I have a Dodge durango
kenwood excelon kdc-x933
4 ch Memphis audio amp Bridged running cdt 61a components stock location
mid Lower door and tweet in the stock A pillar
NO rear speakers
Alpine running 3 jl 10" soon to be a single ID 12".
I would like to run a active set up.
I was thinking that I could run the front outputs as the tweeter channel
and then run the Mids on the rear speaker out puts. This would let me set the delay different for the tweets and the mids. As of right now I am using ing the Cross over on the head to set the high and low pass for the fronts and the sub. So if I put the mids on the rear channel I could set the high pass so the Mids don't play to low but I would need a crossover to stop it from playing to high . Also the cross over would be used to stop the tweeter on the front channels from playing to low and to high. As I dont think the decks crossover will go high enough for the tweeter.
So I guess my first question is.. Does this make scene and is it a good way to set it up.
If yes, would you recommend a cross over or some Brand that I should look in to. Also if there any special options that I should look for?
I know a Processor would be the easiest but that's in the budget right now.
I'm using a Memphis X03 - crossover. It has a 10x multiplier switch that allows it to be used as a hpf for the tweeter and a passband filter that can be used on the mid/midbass.
There are others out there, I think I paid $25 used.
