I have the 3558 Class A and 3546 Class A.

The 3545 was not marketed as a Class A, but is the flagship amp.

you have to look at power ratings to determine if it true class A as well. any company claiming 50 watts x 4 and class A is full of crap. they might have a class A preamp, but the final stage is gonna be class A/B at those numbers.

Of course they are Class A. Says so right on the amp .

Seriously though, I agree they are not true Class A amps, but it was a common sales gimmick back in the day. These Alpines came out when dinosaurs still roamed the earth.

I remember those. even had the chicklet blue LEDs to match the HU, lol.

ya, most of those were class A preamps. the funny thing is, alot of amplifiers have class A preamps, but dont feel the need to say so, lol.

in a car, pure class A is not practical. I wont argue the aspects of not being able to hear the difference going 70MPH, but just from a power plant point of view. a 40w x 4 class A would require like 50amps just to idle, with no music at all, lol.
