I recently got a new car, and am going to compete in stock class. I'd like to do a pair of subs IB in the rear deck, firing through the 6x9 holes. I've confirmed I can IB a pair of 8's there and stay in the class, but I'd really rather do 10's. Can anyone tell me if using 10's would push me up? There would be a baffle bolted to the bottom of the rear deck, so drilling holes to bolt the deck in place is technically cutting metal, but that's all that would be done. I'm assuming it would be, and is the same as making baffles for your doors.
I forwarded your question on to the Rules Commitee to see what they say.
I'll get you the answer as soon as I have it

This would be ok. The best solution is to mount a board to the rear deck. Then mount the woofer(s) baffle board(s) to that. No holes cut and no other mods to rear deck, other than what would be allowed in the rules.

I run 15's in the stock class. No where have I found that you can't. You can also make rings for your doors as long as you don't go up in size and don't modify the panel or the door card.
The question was about cutting his rear deck, not about what size he wanted. You can do as many IB subs in a baffle as you want as long as you don't cut anything.

I would love to hear what you are building one of these days. I'm in Chattanooga enough you would think that the group on here that lives there could get together for a small GTG or listening session
