Default focals and morels?

building a system, got a pioneer dex-p99,going to use zuki amps and have focal krx2-165's for the doors of a chevy express van,can put anything in back, open to suggestions was thinking maybe morel three ways (focal detail w/morel smoothness),another pair of 165's or maybe the three way 165's,and thinking about some 10" subs, like the details in sound dont want it to be boom, thinking infinity 10"s

Mixxing driver brands in a higher spectrum of sound is gonna give you problems I would stick with focal and tune it the way you want. You can't just mix.brands and hope that the better aspects of each driver will result in a perfect stage doesn't work like that.

But might I ask why you want rears in this setup genraly people don't run rears in a setup this high en

well , I'm either going to build a box or if they go into the doors, you've got a hell of a mobile sound system, We go out with our polaris rzr s and dirt bikes into the dessert,so noise pollution/complaints don't exist, also with fronts in the doors the backfiring at you tend to be the primary speaker, and it sounds great! put when the vans loaded, the rears are often compromised,so then your back to the fronts, which in the door point right at your calf,so thanks and please keep any input going guys

Honestly if was me and even if money was no object I'd just go with polykevlar coax with plenty of power. You'll never know the difference outside the vehicle in sound quality.

It is true that different drivers can have a different tonality. However using different drivers from different brands does not mean it is a bad thing. Some of the best sounding cars I have sat in have a mixed bag of driver brands in them. Some of those cars would be a small shock to some if they new what was behind the grills.

A lot of the the cars people consider great sounding run rears. I run rears in my truck, Mark Eldridge runs rears we could go down a long list. You are correct in you cannot just install a set of rears and say that should work. There is a lot of other stuff involved, processing power, tuning them correctly ect. They are generally used to help add a feeling of a larger space or ambience in a vehicle.

True. And.of alll I've mixed brands but to the.uniformed its not advisable. I ran hybrid, sb, and scanspeak last year in my setup and was doing 83-86 in meca all last season which.I was quite proud of since it was my first year ^_^

In my days of past I built up some great sounding cars when audiophile in cars was rare/unheard of. This is just my first opportunity to go crazy in a good platform in 20 years and so I'm a little (lol) dated on things, so,got the pioneer p99,got a pair of focal krx2165's got a pair of pioneer ts252 subs,so looking to either add another pair of 165's or maybe go three way in back,as I have 4 feeds out of the pioneer but can the set up work with the pioneer doing the crossovers if I mix it up as the tweets and mid bass would share feeds,or again just throw in another pair of 165's? thanks for the input, even if your calling me crazy

No you can't run active 3 way and rears. I suggest you sell the pioneer and run some focal coaxs that can take some juice and juice em. That'll get you what you want run those 165s passive maybe run a cheaper processor like a jl clean sweep or a rf 3sixty.2 with a medium feature deck rather than that high feTured deck or keep the deck and run passive and focal coaxs and juice
