I saw this the other day, thought it would be a good alternative to a built in NAV head unit (the digital out option is specified in the manual). Unfortunately its does not play WMA DRM files .
Re: Cowon Q5W -A Portable Navigation Headunit with SPDIF RCA output
Wow, great find. I've been looking for something like this and pretty much gave up on finding an all-in-one unit with good quality. After reading about this some more on the web I think I might just take the plunge and will post a review if I do. Apparently it got bad reviews early on, but a couple reviewers mentioned that a firmware update since then has fixed most of the issues.
EDIT: Well it looks like GPS is not actually built-in like the descriptions imply. GPS is a $200 add-on package. On the bright side, GPS is from TeleAtlas (TomTom) so data quality should be good and easy updates. Don't think I will get this after all, $750 is somewhat pricy and there are possibly better options in that price range. If I can score one for $550-600 with GPS, I'll try it.
NEW CAR: 2005 Evolve S60R (in progress): trying to build the ultimate 5-seat system
SOLD: 2008 Accord LX-P J-vin. Version 8: Kenwood DNX7160, Scanspeak Illums, Exodus Anarchies, etc.

Yup, the GPS is part of the cradle for the car. Seems like a required option when using in the car as well.

god, look at the you tube video. the screen resolution is WAY WAY WAY too small to really work. No guarantees itll work at 640x480, and likely not. #1 problem with the car PC. especially with the popularity of dumping keyboards.
