Default Sub amp question, not SPL

I am wanting to buy a sub amp for my brother,

Sundown SAZ1000d

or

Clarion DPX11551

I am familiar with Sundown and like their products. The Clarion seems like a little more power for less money. This is getting done today so what do you all think?

I think we need more info, like what kind of subs do you plan to run, and how much power do you want?

No you don't.

I can say that the Clarion will put out more power from what I have read.

If you were going to buy a sub amp from the two I have listed, Which one?

You already have a Sundown. Why not get another? How much cheaper is the Clarion?

about 60 bucks. Crutchfield has them for 220 shipped. The Sundown is 280 shipped. The Sundown is 1 ohm stable (actually lower) and is about 1000w@1ohm. The Clarion is 850w@4ohm. It is a more powerful amp over all just not ultra low stable. I don't think my brother will need that capability (low low load capable) even down the road.

Well if he doesn't need a 1 ohm stable amp, the Clarion makes 1500w@2 ohms. Even if he ends up with a DVC 2 ohm sub, he can still run the amp at 4 and make close to 1,000w. The difference we're talking about here may be 1-2db at most though. If it came down to it for me, I'd probably get the Sundown because I like their heatsink better and Jacob treats his customers well. Even if the Sundown makes 700w or so at 2 ohms, and the Clarion makes twice that, it's not a huge difference in terms of actual output.

Yeah, Mikey. That is why I am leaning toward the Sundown. Jacob's service makes you want to do business again.

And the output difference will be negligible.

And I guess to answer the question, a single dual 4 ohm 10 inch subwoofer in a ported enclosure tuned to 40 hertz
