Default Create half door panel Saab ng9-3 bak

Hi.

Have anyone done that ?
It’s very hard too find stock panels for speakers in the bak doors and if you do they cost a lot.

Stock has 4” speakers there but I’d like too put 6.5” mids or coax.

Anyone have tips ?

With speakers

Without speakers i have these once’s

So, you have the bottom pictured door panels with storage instead of a speaker grille, correct? Do you want to keep that bottom half to put back in the car when you sell it? If so, it is probably held with some plastic retainers that could be cut off. A new substrate (ABS, hardboard, plywood) could be cut using the bottom door card as a template. Build up from there with wood or fiberglass over cloth.

If you don't care about keeping that bottom portion intact for resale purposes, then the easiest thing might be to cut an access hole for the speaker, insert a mounting ring and fiberglass the remaining hole.

Try to find replacement on junk-jard.
Are there any holes for speakers under that doorcard?
MAke rings from Aluminium or at least PLY wood so you wont have problems because of the watter.
position rings to the metal, cut holes for speakers, close all holes around speaker ring with fiberglass..... after speaker is installed prevent speaker to play under the doorcard with instalation of FAST RINGS - foam rings that will prevent speaker to play under doorcard and will force complete speaker output trough the speaker grill into the cabin
