Default ABS Tweeter Adapters - Will these work?

Making some adapters for my 2017 Silverado, working on installing some SB29RDCN neo tweeters. I used the OEM 'wideband' as a template, but after making the cutout for the tweeter it left only a small bit of material left for mounting.

Overall diameter is still wider than the flange of the SB29's, is this too thin or do you think I'll be alright?

The mounting holes are pretty close to the edge but decided to go for it...

I'm no pro, but I do have the same truck. And while you cut it pretty close there I think you'll be alright. They're up out of the way in the dash so unless u get in a wreck they shouldnt be moving around any. Not like a door speaker where its constantly being open and closed... The only real exposure issue in dash is heat, but u used ABS so that's good... I think u should mount them and if they sound good send it!

Default Re: ABS Tweeter Adapters

So far so good. I guess that's the challenge with those large format tweeters...they're large! I used a 2-1/4" hole saw and while there was enough play to comfortably fit them, I still had to notch the top and bottom of the adapters so the speaker terminations and wire could pass.

I guess I didn't figure the need to press fit a tweeter like this.
