Default Stereo Integrity

Do these guys still exist?

I've sent 3 emails from 3 different email addresses trying to buy stuff for a current build with zero response.

I remember it being particularly difficult dealing with them many years ago when I was buying one of the Mag subs.

Same business practice all these years later?

On the other hand I reach out to Tam at SLA Acoustics and get responses within minutes.

The period of time that you are talking about, the owner was dealing with medical issues which I believe he is now past.

FYI--I think that SI is now most active on their Facebook page, but I don't know for sure as I don't do Facebook...LOL!!

Sorry I cannot be of more help, but do try finding them on Facebook and give that a shot if you can,

I believe Nick has some chronic disease, MS or something, nevertheless he's very nearly a one man show, hand building some of the best subwoofers on the planet. I'm sure he's very busy and will get back with people as soon as he can, but you're correct about Facebook being the probable best avenue for contact.

When you go to the cart it specifically says to contact them for shipping outside of the US.

As far as I could tell there's no way to send them a message on FB.

Also sorry to hear the owner is sick. Wasn't aware of that.

I just responded to all of the Canadian shipping quote requests. We are absolutely slammed with work and emails...has been that way for about 3 or 4 months now but thanks for posting to bring it up to our attention. You should have an email response now.

Just bought a pair of TM65 from their website and my mistake to input wrong receiver name who is my shipping agent (they will ship that order to outside of US).

Immediately contact by email, facebook to Nick and his sales, got zero response.

Just receive Fedex updates that the order has been sent with my wrong receiver name

I want a full SI 3-way system. Shipping M25 from Amazon was smooth, remaining M3 & TM65 from their website were very uncomfortable. They always ask for calls instead of emails. But I am not in US!

Good things come to those who wait.
You order, wait, wait, forget, then trip over your stuff on the way out the door one day. It's like Christmas morning when you were a kid.
I haven't ordered from SI, but I did preorder my current subs, then literally tripped over them one day.

Wait, you input the wrong information on your order which is where we sent your order to (as far as we knew the information on your order was correct) and you are upset with us? We do not accept messages on Facebook, only via email.

When did you email us? We just went through 2 weeks of emails do not see anything regarding incorrect shipping addresses. What is your order number? When did you receive FedEx Tracking information? What is your correct shipping information? Please email us at either [email protected] or [email protected]. We will get you taken care of.

Thanks, Nick

Default Re: Stereo Integrity

I received my M3 Midranges today. I'm Planning on replacing my GB25's in my Colorado Dash factory locations with these new M3's. Only took 6 days from the time I ordered them on the Web-site, to my front door.

A information document came in the box with the speakers, its states the recommended crossover freq's and some other information. One thing that it stated was to allow 3 to 4 weeks for the M3's to fully break-in.

I'm not sure what that means in terms of the amount of time playing music through the speakers before they are considered 'broke-in'

Can somebody recommend how many hours of listening time they would recommend that would equal 3 to 4 weeks?

I plan on using these settings to break them in. HP/500, LP/3000, flat EQ, I will have TA and level matched.

Probably not worth the time to tune them yet, I was planning on hooking up my battery charger, and let the stereo play for hours to get them to break in.. Is that a bad idea to let them just play for hour after hour when they are new?

Depending on how loud you play, you might want to try a 300 or 350 Hz HP with the M3s as they should be very capable down there.

I like to play it LOUD now and then.. .but not all the time....

I don't want to muck up the speakers before they are ready. The Document that came with the speakers said it will take 3 to 4 weeks to break them in....but what does that mean..... 10 hours, 40 hours, 80 hours of music playing time to break-in? Would RAP break them in faster than Classic Rock ?

it takes a lot of time to tune a system, ((for me its takes a long time)), when I do the tune, it would be good to know the speakers are ready for it.

just install the speakers and play them like you normally would. then after a month or so spend time on your tuning.

Nick, it was a simple mistake that anyone could have made. Knock, knock!?!? We are ALL human and make mistakes, okay? The guy TRIED to contact you via Email Multiple Times, which you always come on here after the fact and tell people that's how they should contact you if they want a quick response. 99% of the time, they do exactly what you asked, and are still left hanging. :-/ So they naturally come to DIYMA to post and see if anyone knows WTH is going on and why you or SI are not responding through the normal business channels.

I really like your products...everybody does. And most people here understand that you are pretty much a "One Man Show". BUT, For The Love Of God, man, if you want to run a reputable business and not have upset customers on a regular basis, and do like to have repeat business, you REALLY need to get SOMEONE...ANYONE, who is not rushed or pressed for time, to carefully go through your Emails on a DAILY BASIS (including your spam and junk mail folders), preferably AT LEAST ONCE first thing in the morning, and then AT LEAST ONCE in the afternoon/evening!

You cannot say that this is not a recurring theme. It seems that you typically have more problems with your International customers (or potential Int'l customers) whom due to time differences and/or cost, would prefer to not contact you by phone.

And you also specifically request that International customers to contact you Before Ordering. EMAIL is the most efficient form of communication when dealing with International customers who also might potentially misunderstand exactly what you said during a phone conversation due to language barriers. Emails are "in writing" and Google Translate is really accurate these days.

If a phone call is absolutely required to solve an issue for an International customer, you should request it and schedule it via Email ahead of time.

I truly want to see your business grow and be even more successful than it already is, and for ALL of your customers to be completely satisfied. But I don't ever see that happening in a consistent and significant manner if you continue with your current M.O.

It really saddens me every time I see one of these posts. You've got to make a change in how you deal with this, dude. Prompt, concise, and thorough COMMUNICATION with your customers (and potential customers) should be your absolute #1 priority. That's just "Business 101"!

I'm out.

My buddy runs an independent insurance agency. He and his partner started running into service issues and lost some clients. Email turnaround and phone calls outside of sales were not that good, but they recognized it. They were so focused on getting the business in, that aspects of service suffered. They basically hired a college student to handle email and a phone calls during a small periods during the day. It ended up not being a lot of money for them. The girl they hired cleared emails for them, sent return emails after phone calls so customer knew they were not in never never land. She basically was in the office about 2 or 3 hours a day, but the change in service saved clients from walking and talking about them. Being a college student, she was also tech savvy and implemented a few things that made customer tracking and service easier. I just point this out as their situation was very similar. Small company, one man show so to speak getting swamped with work but understood they had to do something to improve service or perception of service.

Default Re: Stereo Integrity

Super glad to hear this worked out. Nick is an asset to this forum for sure, despite occasional hiccups along the way, and some personality issues that have cropped up from time to time. I am using multiple sets of SI drivers and am super happy with them.

I agree some customer service issues sometimes arise. Really glad to hear you got your speakers, and if the mkIII are better than my mkII, I am pretty jealous. I'm running 2 pair in my Tahoe right now and have a pair (of mkII) sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed in my Z. And I can't wait.
