I need some deep bass in my 2019 man tge (vw crafter rebadged)
my plan is as follows: standard vw discovery nav dab headunit into my pioneer 9604 amp as it has high level inputs and auto power switching, channels 1 and 2 with hpf into standard door speakers and some silentcoat in the doors as even with the standard headunit the doorcards rattle and resonate like hell, then a wide but shallow sub box mounted securely on the bulkhead above the driver/passengers head driven via lpf on channel 3/4. under the passenger seats is not an option as that space is fully used already with work stuff, and the load area is pretty full with racking, tools and stock as well.
Would this be viable, and if so should I build something myself using the full width and height available or just buy a kicker comprt prebuilt box with the 12" and a passive radiator?
I am looking for deep and tight and effortless, doesnt have to be too loud, looking for quality and depth over quantity
the sound I am looking to recreate is my home sound system of sonos hdmi amp, kef in wall speakers for the front channels, sonos play 1s for the rears and 2x svs pb2000 subs if anyone is familiar how they sound.
Any pointers? I have no problems at all with the practicalities of fabricating an enclosure, but I have never done any enclosure design and wouldn't know where to start as my free time is limited, trial and error doesn't suit, If I am doing something I would like to do it right once.
if it is any use I have a jbl ms8 lying around doing nothing, I stopped using it as it induced an echo in my trafics handsfree, and having to press the bypass button every time I taken a call was a pain in the hole as I get 30-40 calls a day, but if there was some way it could be used without ruining handsfree I'm all ears.
