Ground Loop

Added by ANT, 03-28-2012 09:35 PM
The condition created when two or more return paths for electricity are created in a ground line, or when one or more grounding paths are created in a shielded audio cable. The ground lines are not at true ground reference levels. This can create undesirable noise, such as a high pitched whine when the vehicle is running or pops and clicks when other devices are used in the vehicle.
