I wouldn't put 8NDL51s in the door of a car. Due to the low QTS value, you can fit them into a very very small enclosure. The one that I used was just big enough to contain the basket. When you combine a very very small enclosure with a woofer that can handle a lot of power, you get a combination that will get very very very loud. If you use an enclosure that's too big (like a car door) you lose power handling.

And besides that, I just don't put speakers in doors, because it screws up your soundstage. The neo B&C woofers are something three inches deep, they're easy to hide in the kicks or even under the dash.

Patrick, what size enclosure did you use for the 8NDL51 midbass, when you ran it in the Accord? I am looking to see if I can work a comparable sized enclosure into the door of my car.

Hey Patrick good afternoon i was just looking over a thread u posted on, and notice that u stated that u had a Accord, what year is your Accord? I have a 96 LX and i'm workin on gettin my system together can u give me some advice on the best way to get midbass in my car i have a few different routes i can go, plan one is to go with a pr of Dayton RS52+Lpg tweets in some qlogic kick panel enclosers with a Exodus 6.5 midbass in my doors, option #2 Usd BC horns and a pr of Peerless SLS 8's but i'm not sure how to fill in the gap from the SLS to the horns since the SLS only go up to 300hz. with these to set up could u recommend the best option for me to get optimal sound quality. thx,

    So Cal

hey I hear that your spherical enclosure guru.I was wondering if a peerless sls 6.5 woofer would sound good in a sphere enclosure .I was thinking of putting it in a f/g baffles with a aperiodic vent and then enlocing it in the sphere.Does that souund like a good plan? They will be a dedicated mid bass in a 3 way setup playing in the 80-600 hz frequency. They will be powered with a kenwood 500x4 130x2 bridged @4 0hm thanks for the help

Some one sent me a link to your DIYMA R12 horn build and I am very interested in making one. The thread on the DIYAUDIO forum has a link but it is broken. Do you still have the plans for it or have you scraped the idea? If so, would it be possible to get a copy of the plans?

I'm building a small system at home and this would fit the bill perfectly.
