Sonic Electronix seems like they closed down their west coast warehouse and all their inventory is coming out of their Kansas warehouse. I think they still have their corporate office in Chatsworth but as far as customer support, it's coming out of Kansas too.

The woes of Sonic Electronix continues. I've been a customer of theirs for over 10 years now and the quality of customer service has gone way down. At one point, orders were filled quickly and accurately and in the rare case of a mistake, they were quick to resolve it. Now, inaccurate orders and don't even bother trying to call them. I was literally on hold with them for 2.5 hours and the number of callers in front of me never changed. Now I know that it doesn't take more than 2 hours to help one person. If you opt for the call back option, the moment you hit that button you get a message saying that there seems to be an error and it's not available. You call back to get back in the queue and the number of callers ahead of you is either the same, or it may have gone up. Emails take 2-3 days to get a resonse on and even then they are not very definitive with how they can help you.

The bad thing is...if you look for a retailer that offers a wide variety to cover any budget, Sonic's got it. They are just lacking in the customer service area and that makes any experience with them (good or bad) either bad or worse.

I've got a head unit that I received from them about 3 weeks ago that's still in the box because they sent the wrong wire harness with it. I've been trying to get the matter resolved and to date, they still can't tell me which wire harness I need.

I hope things get better for them

Sonic's service started going downhill when they got rid of their west coast warehouse and started shipping everything from a centralized location which is in Kentucky or Kansas.

At this point I'm glad I'm able to find most of what I need either new or barely used through people I trust. Then there's Madisound and PE. Guess Sonic is getting more business than they can handle so hopefully if a whole high traffic car audio forum stops buying from them they'll be able to handle the customers that don't know any better.

I feel you. I haven't done a lot of business w/ Sonic Electronix, but I have purchased items from them in the past. I think what made the company start going down hill was when they closed down their west coast warehouse in California and started shipping everything out from one centralized location out in the midwest, Kentucky I think or it might be Kansas. Can't recall. But what would be a 2 day, the most 3 days max shipping to folks out on the west coast, everything is being delivered from said location, which is taking anywhere from a week or more. To top it off, the items being delivered are A) wrong item sent, B) product is damaged or DOA or C) a combination of both. Then you still have to deal w/ the customer service rep and usually they're of no help and want to charge you, the customer a return shipping label even though they're the ones that messed up (read a lot negative reviews from unhappy customers about this) and/or they try to put the blame on you for ruining said product.

All I do now is just browse their site and see if I can find it on Amazon for cheaper. Granted, there's been times where I've been tempted to purchase from them but I just think back to how their shipping methods aren't what it used to be.

I've been using Sonic Electronix since 2008 . Never had a problem with orders or with returns .just returned an amp I thought had a problem they were great. Sent replacement before they received the defect unit.only good experiences here

Oh, that sounds great. I just sent in an amp for warranty and they had low stock on the one I needed. Worried they would sell out and then discontinue. I asked them to hold one for me- NOPE! I asked them if I can purchase then get a refund once the had mine back- NOPE! Only thing I could do was hurry and ship it before they sold out. Go ship it and come back and they are sold out and discontinued on my amp model. Of COURSE!

Still holding out hope they held one once they saw the label ship- if they did I will update.

i just ordered speakers from sonic(Through their ebay store to save shipping) and i got it in 2 days(granted im close to KY) and it was well packaged, defect free, correct product, etc.

ive ordered from them a couple times in the past 10 years and never had any problems. tho ive never had to use the customer service or return something

Yeah I ordered from them a few weeks ago well 2 months ago and it took them almost a month to get me my speakers that I ordered Granite that the first package was lost by the delivery service but it still took almost a month. I was on hold for almost 3 hours and no luck I just hung up and I sent them an email I get an email back from them about 4 to 5 days later apologizing about the incident I had on the phone I sent an email back as soon as he had sent me one asking for him to give me a call or if I can call him directly and no response. I will be ordering from Crutchfield or somewhere else that I can trust especially when I'm making big purchases.
When they had their warehouse here in California it only took one night for a two-day free shipping package to get to me

Not trying to discredit anyone's bad experience, but the above has been my past experiences as well. I wonder if it has to do with certain stock or location shipped to? Either way, it isn't good and it would be nice to see them rectify the issues.

I use them if I have to. I've never had problems with an order and I'd rather use them than Amazon, but their ticket system is awful.

By the way, if you want something shipped out quick just send them a ticket considering cancelling an order. It will switch from processing to shipped in a heartbeat.

Products are good, but their customer service needs some serious work.

I've placed several orders with Sonic. Smaller stuff always shows up quickly, without issue, and new in box/bag.

My 8/12/2018 order of the Infinity 90csx + 20mx wasn't shipped until 8/21/2018 and
and were delivered on 8/23/2018. The 20mx were in an unopened box. The 90csx were definitely open box, missing screws/instructions..... I didn't pay for used/returned/refurbished. I paid for BNIB, preferably unopened and not missing anything. After dealing with their 1-way ticket system, where they don't respond, and waiting for status update just for shipping info, I'll probably avoid using them for any major purchases. And yes, they were shipped/delivered with no order tracking info provided until AFTER delivery. So, if your area has thieves driving around following the UPS/FEDEX/USPS trucks, and you're not expecting a delivery, the risk of theft was pretty high.

I didn't bother returning them since all I needed were the 2.5 ohm 6x9 drivers.... to replace blown actively crossed over door drivers. The Infinity 6x9's sound excellent. And, i will eventually find a place for the mids and tweets, but probably have no usage for the crossovers. If I needed 'everything' that they were supposed to come with, I would've returned them.

"hutsell" did work to drop the price by $15. But, when I looked at the product, a 'timed popup' provided a $30 total discount instead.

You cant have both. You want bottom basement prices than go with Sonic, Walmart, or Amazon. You want fast delivery, excellent customer service, and no hassle returns where someone actually picks up the phone and cares or lifetime tech support that actually knows how to help, than go with Crutchfield. Actually the best customer service can come from your local mom and pop

I personally haven't had any issues with Sonic and the items I have purchased from them but I do not buy things like head units or expensive electronic equipment from them either much, if at all. Their amplifier power wiring is excellent for the price but some of their amplifiers are overrated Chinese junk such as their MPV micro amps. i guess some of their NVX stuff is great and some is bad. They also will not post negative reviews so take their reviews as being biased. Crutchfield will post negative reviews and then actually respond to it.

Retail is a tough business to be in.

I had a good experience with them, but I ordered through their eBay store, which may be beneficial in that there is more accountability for them and others to ensure timely shipping and good communication. Buying through eBay too, as well as paying through PayPal provides extra protections in the event there are problems.

Plus, there may be best offer pricing.

Keep this in mind for all merchants you deal with.
