It will limit the mechanical limitations of the sub. It's been a few years since I've done anything audio so bare with me

How about we try 1.5 cubes. That's what PE/Dayton recommends.

Understood. However, it would just be a matter of setting the gains.

Bear in mind that at just one cube it's nearly 1 mm over Xmax at 600 watts

That would be fine. Making the box smaller will be easier because I'd have more room for the port to be external. I could eq it down

1.5 cubes, 30 Hz, 3.5" x 17.6" (based on flared P.P.P. vent calculator), 470 W (at Xmax), 45 m/s (should be noise free with adequately flared vent), 112.74 dB at ~38 Hz, 26 Hz F3.

Looks like a winner.

At one cube, vent would be 3.5" x 27.3" , 28.7 F3, 550 watts, 112.8 dB at 47.2 Hz.

The 1 cube looks pretty good as well. Little less output but doesn't look to bad

Output is the same. Long port though, and less extension, higher F3.

Forgive me if I remember right and what you have shown me, the 1 cube box wont play as low but will play higher. And the 1.5 cube would play lower better but drop off sooner?

Yes, but the 1.5 actually drops off later (with its greater extension), only slightly sharper. It's the 1.0 that drops off sooner (though slightly less sharply).
