Hybrid audio clarus c8sw

Anyone have experience with these? Ported or sealed. Enclosure and port area sizes. Ant help would be appreciated. I have 2 I'm going to try and use

1 Attachment(s)
HA Clarus C8SW-D2. 170 watts.

EBP of 113.57 seems best suited to vented.

HA recommended .75 ft^3 @ 38 Hz looks like your best bet for flat response. 35.8 Hz F3. 108 dB @ 44 Hz. Higher Fb and/or greater Vb for commensurately higher (and peakier) output.

One of these https://www.parts-express.com/precis...e-kit--268-350 at 16.4 (32.2 m/s); or a 4 non-flared tube at 28.2 (18.1 m/s). Either should be completely noise-free. Not sure if 32.2 m/s would produce audible chuffing in non-flared tube (3 x 15.3).

Thos os great. I have 2. I can either put 800 watts to the pair or 350.

A single 3" flared for the pair or per?

Per.

So a 4" flared would be fine as well? Assuming I wire to 4 ohm

Not sure what you're asking here. One 4" flared per driver wouldn't hurt, if you don't mind the extra vent length and displacement. I'd probably opt for 3" flared instead, particularly to the extent that I though I wouldn't need to push them hard.

At 36.2 m/s, you could get away with one 4" flared for both (one 1.5 ft^3 airspace, 340 watts combined). However, it is generally preferable to have separate airspace for each vented driver.

Not sure how wiring configuration/load impedance figures into vent selection.

More power can introduce port noise

Yes. I'm well aware of that ...which is why I indicate watts whenever I post modeling results.

I cannot know the effects of a 4 ohm load versus any other on an unknown amplifier.

Correct. I thought you could put in what power

Vent velocity can only be calculated (or even wildly guessed) with respect to a specific signal level (power/watts).

...in this case, 170 watts (per driver), as posted in the above modeling results (and based on HAT specs).
