Default Quick Disconnects for a removable rig.....

Upon some request, here's what I plan to use to make my sub enclosure/amplifiers removable to gain access to the spare tire.

EDAC/Elco connectors. I only need 20 contacts but will go with the larger (38 point) one because I have them "in stock" The pins are purchased seperate and can be either crimp on (and a damn solid crimp) or solder type. I plan to run remote down this too.

For speaker I plan to use Neutrik NL8FC and NL8MPR's like on my PA cabs.

And for power I plan to use these disconnects.

There you have it, all taken care of in case of emergency or for those with high performance cars that want to shave weight at the track.

So funny you mention the power poles. I have a shitload of those on all my 12V stuff in the shop/shack. Nice connectors!

Those breakaway connectors are used on all the electric forklift batteries we use here at work.

Very nice. Those power connectors are just what the doctor ordered. Thanks for those links.

I'm doing the same thing with my amp rack. Chad, you may remember a few PMs from me.

I ended up using an Amphenol connector, cable to cable for my RCA runs. I'm running balanced, so I needed at least 12 pins. I'll be using a 17 pin connector, and run remote down it as well. Speaker wire is done using just a simple 9 pin interlocking connector.

The only thing left was how to do the power wire, and you guys just solved that.

The ability to buy expensive equipment does NOT make you an audiophile.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the Amphenol connectors cost you? I need to do a 12CH break-out snake on stage and was thinking of that one over the Whirlwind MASS connectors.
