  1. Headunit power consumption..?

    General Car Audio Discussion
The constant and ignition wires could be switched too. If the radio doesn't need constant power to saves memory, you'd never know if the wires were switched. Leaving the faceplate on could be enough to turn the radio on in some manner draining your battery.
  2. Old School Clarion Lovers...

    Old School Car Audio Discussion
I've got some new Clarion items I've acquired over the last year that I'd like to show. Give me some time to round them up for photos and I will post them.
  3. New truck, new install- 2012 Blue Flame Ford Raptor

Build Logs & Project Install Gallery
Thanks I have most things needed. the overall goal is SQ that can get down when I want it to. I'm going to keep the factory HU and use either the PAC or Metra plug and play T harness w/their DSP (For low level output only) to a Mosconi 6to8 V8 DSP. The amps I plan on using (for now) are...
  4. New truck, new install- 2012 Blue Flame Ford Raptor

Build Logs & Project Install Gallery
As of Friday Oct 20th, I am the VERY PROUD owner of a 2012 Blur Flame Ford Raptor. I plan to take my time on building what I need for the install and then in the spring install it all in a weekend. I also plan to take many pics of the progress as I go and share them. I still need a few more...

  6. What triggers the Mosconi 6to8's anti-clipping mute feature?

Technical & Advanced Car Audio Discussion
As far as I know, it's built in to its program. I use the same DSP, but I have 0 issues with that. My question is, why do you want to allow clipping to pass? Distortion (clipping) is the number one cause of speaker failure.
  7. EQ session results......

    General Car Audio Discussion
May I inquire as to what videos (a link maybe) you watched? I've watched a few myself and have found very little that I did not know already. Looking to learn more, always. I'm done tuning/tweaking for now as the stereo is coming out this coming Friday. I'm in the process of converting back to...
  8. Caps in Serie$ for combined uf?

    General Car Audio Discussion
And note: You don't HAVE to have the exact capacitance value, you're safe to go over. Just get what fits your physical size with the uf you need as a minimum.
  9. Linear Power Nerds ITT

    General Car Audio Discussion
The company is still alive and going strong today. It's owned and operated by Ray Rayfield and still made in the USA. They are considered SQ amps from the get go and still are. These are some of the best amps money can buy, due to quality, reliability, power, SQ and the service you'll get if you...
  10. 2 or 3 way active recommendations

    General Car Audio Discussion
Isn't that kind of what V8toilet did, was give you a 2 way setup option? The only confusion I saw was the lack of informing that you had a sub. No harm, no foul. I actually second his recommendation. I was going to order a set of SB tweeters if one of my current tweeters were dead, but luckily...
  11. Tweeter randomly dulls.

    General Car Audio Discussion
Sounds like the polysilicone switch. It's goldish yellow round pill looking in it's appearance. If need be, you can bypass it by twisting it so that the leads touch, thus bypassing the protection. That's also if the leads are long enough for you to twist. Is it recommended? Not really, but it...
  12. Sundown X-8 6th Order Bandpass

    General Car Audio Discussion
If you're willing to give up that much space for a 6th order, look into a T-line. I run two SA8v3s in a T-line, nothing else will compare (my $.02) in the sound and output.
  13. Sundown SA10 vs JL10W6V3 vs Audiofrog GB10 - Ported

    General Car Audio Discussion
I was going to say SD was Green.
  14. A Dedicated DSP Forum

    General Car Audio Discussion
For those on FB, there's a page called DSP's and Tablets for this sole purpose.
  15. Silver flutes and Vifa xt25 and 12 sealed

    General Car Audio Discussion
I run the Silver Flutes but in a 3way. You can take that 8 down lower if you want. I have the 6.5's and have them crossed over at 63Hz @24dB/Oct HP and 300Hz at 24dB/Oct LP. Take note though, I have mine in a .1 cf sealed enclosure.
  16. Whats the best 5 channel amp right now?

    General Car Audio Discussion
While I'll take what that guy said about the PG amp with a grain of salt... The Audison amp is amazing. I had the LRX5.1k and miss it. Would love to get another one someday. I wouldn't hesitate getting it. Also to note, the A chs are class A biased, not true class A.
  17. So tell me about this Peerless/Tymphany monster 15!

    General Car Audio Discussion
If I could only fit a 15 in my truck. I'm limited to 14" at my greatest...... If they make a 12", I'll heavily consider it, Make a 10" and I'm all in! Sweet ass driver!!!!!!
  18. So how much power is lost due to passive crossover networks?

Technical & Advanced Car Audio Discussion
    According to the Loudspeaker design cookbook, Generally it's 5% power loss for every order slope. 6dB = 5% 12dB = 10% 18dB = 15% 24dB = 20% and so on.
  19. A killer Combo of 6.5 & Tweeters (raw drivers)

    General Car Audio Discussion
Both choices given are very good, however I went with the Silver Flutes some 8 years ago. One of the very first to run them. Run the SF's sealed and you'll be surprised. I'm going back to them, but I'm thinking of changing up my MR/TW section to the SB Acoustics SB12PFC25-4-COAX 4" Coaxial- 4...
  20. Cadence DSP4.8, your issues/concerns

    General Car Audio Discussion
I was one of the first huge supporters of the DSP4.8 After many talks with Matt (head of the product/design) in the beginning, all seemed promising. After many repeated attempts for a reply from Matt (friends with him on FB even), I have given up. I sold my unit and bought a Misconi 6to8 V8. My...
