Just curious if anyone has successfully mounted some 8" midbass in their doors without major modification. I'm at work right now so don't have the ability to start measuring but my ID OEM's fit easily with room left over. Was planning on getting the Peerless SLS 6.5's but started thinking about maybe squeezing some 8's in there. I originally bought some pre-made MDF baffles from ED website and the OEM's were actually too small and I had to modify the baffle to get them to fit right. Started thinking that if those 6.5's have that much room left over I might be able to make some new baffles with a thinner ring and squeeze in some 8's.

Wondering if anyone else has tried this and what their findings were.

I was able to squeeze a pair of 8" radio shacks in my old 04' xB. They worked and sounded great once I got it all tuned. If I remember right it seems like finding 8's that were both inexpensive and shallow enough was my largest hurdle.
