Hi,
I will (shortly) receive a new sub : an SSA Icon 15. I don't yet if I put it in a sealed or a ported enclosure, but I need an amp that can give 1000 watts rms at 4ohms.
I am on a budget, so what choices do I have ?:D
The JL 1000/1 would be a very good one, but it is so expensive.:(
I will buy online, because I don't have so much choice in my country.
I can go with used amp, but sellers may be afraid of the shipping rates.
Waiting for your advices.
Thanks

I'll bet you find find a PG Xenon 600.1 for cheap. Mine benched at 850 watts @ 4 ohms. Not 1000 watts, but close. I just like recommending this amp because mine has been solid. The internals look like they are built to last, it'll make rated power from 1-4 ohms, mine has never even gotten past slightly warm, and they can be found pretty cheap.

I'm with you 100% on the Xenon recommendation. Close enough to 1k and can be had for quite a reasonable price. They kick some ass @ 4 ohms and do it quite efficiently. Ugly with too much bling for my tastes (although I have a 1200.1 I'm using right now) but very reliable, even in tight spaces.

If you are not opposed to Class AB power, the Rockford Fosgate 25 to Life Punch 150 will give you some decent power @ 4 ohms bridged. Mine birthed at just over 1,000 watts RMS @ 2 ohms stereo which would translate to 4 ohms bridged:
