Hi there,

Could anyone tell me if it's possible to have a dynaudio esotar 1200 sub enclosed in a wide sub box where the system amps is mounted beside the sub (one on each side) or will they be damaged because of the subs magnetic field?

If so what would the min. distance be and are there ways to shield the amps from the magnetic field?

Hope you can help and merry Christmas to you all :)

If your asking can you mount the amps on the outside of your box, yes. People do it often! Some say it's not recommended due to possibly damaging the amp internals from getting rattled around. But i had one on my box for like 3 years with no issues!

You can but I've read it should not be done without a rubber mount to help with vibration. That being said I ran a Rockford amp on my box for 10 years without a problem. Maybe I was lucky, maybe it was just a well made amp. Either way, I don't think I'd do it again knowing what I know now.

You can mount the amp inside or outside of the box without issue. Inside you will need a removable panel. If your box flexes to much you will damage the amp. If it is braced properly you will have no problems. If you are not absolutely sure your box is not flexing than a simple solution is to cut some small diameter rubber hose in to 3/8 sections and put it in between the amp and box then run your screw through the amp mount holes, rubber pieces, and then in to box. Simple, cheap, effective dampener.
