I'm planning on adding a small amp and component speakers to my Optima, keeping the factory head unit

Does anyone know if the door speakers are receiving a full range signal? Or are they low passed since it has the 3.5"s in the dash?

Any insight is appreciated!

if the door has 4 wires, its receiving a full range(well at least 80-20kHz).

If it has 2, then its getting a bandpass signal. Unless they designed the door in a way that the natural rolloff is the crossover. Most likely not the case though

It's going to depend on the year and trim level of your optima.
If it has the 10 speaker harmen set up then you have an amp with processing and x overs.
If you the base it really depends on the year and what the head unit looks like.
For instance the harmen system has Apple carplay and Android auto but also the processing and xovers from the amp.
But the lower trim level without the harmen but with carplay has capacitors and the midrange and midbass just roll off.
But the premium sport comes with no touchscreen or carplay but has an amplifier and xovers built into to it.
So we need more info bro
