Assuming a sub and amp are operating within their designed parameters. Let's also assume that the sub is in an approriate box...now here is my question...

at 1ohm can the amp/sub perform at an SQ level or is it guaranteed to be loud as hell, but sound like crap?

Btw: this will be a determining factor, as I plan my new sub stage.

as long as the amp is designed for 1 ohm operation, then it doesnt matter. if you want a little more headroom on the amp, then run it at 2ohms. this is really no different than running a 2ohm stable amp at 2ohms instead of 4.
